Kyle Walker-Peters

I still find it very strange that he's named Kyle Walker (Peters)

Windy from COYS has been banging on about him for ages. The semi final of the under 20 World Cup is an excellent achievement for our lads. If he can hold his own at that level surely he's worth giving a chance to as Trippier's understudy next season? Assuming Walker is off.

Loads of great touches in this clip from Soton U21 vs Tottenham U21 at St Mary's 2015, including a superb shot on target from range @ 4.44

Technically, this kid is already better than Walker. He has great close control, he's a footballer, not just an athlete. Watched the second half of the Mexico game and was very impressed he was as smooth as silk. Still, it was only against other kids, but one for the future for sure.

Didn't see the mexico game, but 6 months ago, he was miles away from being ready. Hope he has made that Poch progress, but I've never seen the reason behind the hype and I have seen him in person (admittedly not recently).

Fun to watch. Ain't lacking confidence, that's for sure, and doesn't hesitate to drive into space - or even create his own - when opportunities arise. Yet he also shows patience and a good sense of anticipation. Interesting to see him play on the off wing in the second half.

Could use some work on using his left foot better. On occasions in that clip, he took an extra touch or two to get the ball onto his right when first-touch play with his left would be preferable. Those extra touches are a luxury he won't enjoy at PL level.

A loan would be a good thing as long as he's a starter but Poch wouldn't want him going to a side that won't play a suitable style of game.

No different then from if Walker or Trippier were to play at left back or Rose or Davies were to play at right back

IIRC in the Mexico game he came across from the left into the box to help out, won the ball the jinked past 3 players while still in the box and played a nice out ball to the Right side .

I must say watching the U20's is a breath of fresh air. Not are we only physically better (fitness and strength) but technically we are better than the Italians (how many times could we say that in the past).

1-0 down they were, but never looked bothered by it.

All the boys are confident on the ball and happy receiving it in tight spaces......we're confident playing high reward passes rather than the same old playing it across the pitch stuff.

Lewis Cook of Bournemouth looks really mature at this level......Kenny,Lookman,KWP and of course Solanke look very promising (and Ojo has been terrific since he came on)

They look well coached, whether this is by Simpson or in combination with the academies they all come from im not sure. Whatever is happening, its good:)

All they need is opportunities at first team football.

And there it is..........3-1 ......the final awaits

Lookman is one that got away as we were looking (along with others) and Everton paid up...

Lookman hasn't been all that at this tournament. He seems to have his head down too often and runs at people when passing it would be a better option. He may develop further, but going by just what I've seen in this tournament I don't rate him that much. Cook has been OK, but I'd rather have Winks tbh.

Anyways back to the topic. KWP has always been tidy on the ball, but I'm happy to see that his defending has improved.

Lookman has been the player of the tournament according to a lot of pundits
