It’s simple isn’t it? All players and managers commit to Spurs for their entire career, until such a point the club deems them useless, at which point they should leave immediately, but not to a rival club. At no point should they speak ill of the club or celebrate a goal against us.

If he does well here i would imagine there will be questions asked as to why they couldn't provide him with the platform to succeed and should another manager fail there Woodward may find his job on the line

I'd like to think that most people not named Sol Campbell know where the line really is.
 
Hope Pochettino won't join any other English clubs. It will be hard to accept him coming up against us, especially our top 4 rivals.

So afaic the line is you sign a contract and if the contract is to be terminated the club either compensate the individual or another club compensate us depending on who the driver behind the change is.
Whilst under contract the player needs to give their all. When it is expired the player can go wherever they want, the only impact will be that the fans will view it as disrespectful to the club to go to a rival.
So if Poch goes to Arsenal, he was sacked by us so that is his right. It would be a little hypocritical given how many times he mentioned unprompted there he’d never do it, a la Barca because of Espanyol.
My biggest issue with employees of the club is when they don’t fulfill their duties whilst under contract, so if they refuse to play or perform without true effort to get a move.

I think (and I'd hope most fans would agree) that there's an unspoken code of conduct regarding joining direct historical rivals, particularly once you have reached a certain stature within club 'A', as Poch clearly did. This is my only concern.

I will have no issue with any career choice Poch goes on to make, short of joining Arsenal. If that job is offered to him it's safe to say that he's likely to have other comparable options, which anybody who values said 'code of conduct' (which he certainly appears to, given the comments you've referred to) would surely take up.

For the record I'd be utterly amazed if it ever came to that, based on my judgement of him as a person, so for me its almost certainly a moot point.

Agree with this.

Honestly I think the links to Arsenal are as laughable as a link to Everton.

I cannot think of one good reason for him to consider joining Arsenal, other than if he is feels utterly wronged by the decision to sack him that this would be the best act of revenge he could inflict on Levy. Even if he did think that, he’d be taking on one of the most difficult opportunities he is likely to be offered between now and the beginning of next season. It’s not like the fans were ever on his back either, I think it’s just media clickbait and I’m sure he’ll reiterate his Espanyol quote when he does his next proper interview. (I’m sure sky are desperate to get him on as a pundit, Neville loves him too!)
