    Xavi Simons

No I'm not saying we shouldn't have gone for anyone. Simmons is actually the player of the primary 3 that I liked the most pre any transfer speculation. What I am saying though is that he does not appear to have been our primary choice so as you say he is very different from the other two and so...

    Xavi Simons

So he didn't want to come and he wasn't whom we were initially or even secondarily looking at. Makes it all the worse, again even though I personally rate the player (but not his overall spell at Spurs so far).

    Igor the Interim

I'd try Souza first or at the least very seriously consider him. In the few minutes he has had so far he looks very competent on the ball and importantly seems very calm when hes in the final 3rd, hes not rushing around, he looks to pick out players with his crosses or passes.

    Thomas Frank’s coaching staff

From Hetinga's agent, so it sounds like the idea of him stayiong was indeed their plan.

Its crazy how we have forgotten this. Great midfields win championships, good ones finish high up the table and the shambles we have might just get us relegated. I said it on here the other day, I used to fudging cry at the thought of the Winks and Sissoko pairing, but my word that was more...

The Overlap - some interesting comments from Ange

Unless you believe that there is something specific about Ange or Frank's systems that caused the injuries then no I don't think that's the case. What I don't understand is considering we suffered said injuries in the first year and again in the 2nd year and even with a different coach who...

The Overlap - some interesting comments from Ange

I haven't said it's certainty at all, but I'm following the fairly clear trend. Lots of injuries in his 1st and 2nd seasons. You say law of average but factually you can see that yes we did actually suffer umpteen injuries once again this season. There nothing to suggest the injuries we've had...

The Overlap - some interesting comments from Ange

We would have fewer injuries because @SissokoWasGood (BoL) simply believes we would even despite a good portion of the starting 11 already being long term injured going into this season. There's no reasoning behind it, just belief.

    'Round pegs in square holes'

Johnson couldn't play Gallagher's role anyway. We gambled on playing Odobert there (to some good effect) but didn't think about squad and the possibility for injuries.

    'Round pegs in square holes'

I'm like you, I think our midfield is utterly unabalanced without a range of attributes that are needed, the most key being a fudging passer. I remember in the squad thread before the season started I said I wanted a CM and I allowed myself to be gas lot into accepting that Palhina was that...

The Case for the Attacking play

This is why Ange played the system he did. Or maybe not why, but I do think it's part of why he couldn't or wouldn't adjust it because he knew how fudging abject out players are and the lack of final 3rd quality we have. Even under Ange's suicide attack we didn't really create much of quality...

    Igor the Interim

It looked a lot like a 3 for the majority of the game but if it was a 4 the Gray at LB thing needs to die. He's awful there and can not provide anything that a LB actually needs to do.

    Squad

They just aren't that good and are also a mish mash and an unbalanced group. You can get away with one of those things but not both. If you lack quality but are well balanced, a system can plan around your weaknesses and maximize your strengths. If you have no balance but extreme quality you...

    Mathys Tel

He's not very good. He does run around and is direct and in this time we need that, but the lacks quality when he does start games it's kind of obvious why he's never really been given the chance. I personally would have played him off the left over playing Simons there but I do get why that...
