    American politics

Putting a 200% tariff on EU wine could be the straw that broke the camel’s back. If anything is guaranteed to kick-start an uprising in the US it’s their citizens finding out they’ll have no option but to drink the muck they produce themselves.

I’m often confused by what you think might be being said on the football forum of a team who have been playing poorly for over a year, and who seem to be drifting backwards, while further losing any identity they once had. You might enjoy this more than here: https://www.positive.news/ :)

I’ve honestly no idea…and can’t be arsed to check! :) Feel for Atlético though. Bright side is Madrid should beat the Goons over two legs.

Don’t think it matters, does it? Was it not the fact that he’s touched it twice before it ends up in the net?

I’d love to let Simeone loose in our changing room. There’d be a few in puddles on the floor.

    Ange in or out?

Agreed. I couldn’t care less if our manager is from Catford, Catalonia or Kathmandu as long as they have the tools to do the job well. The current bloke doesn’t imo.

I don't have an issue with it - and if it helped the manager get who he wanted, then fine. But we can't then say that the chairman doesn't ultimately have control over what we see on the pitch - he sets the financial parameters within which players and manager have to perform, and practically...

Ultimately he’s responsible for appointing the managers, and he is still getting involved with transfers (see Tel). He also controls the purse strings. No one, therefore, has greater ultimate control over what happens on the pitch.

Really impressed with them over the two legs. A joy to watch.

Well, that’ll add a bounce to my midweek step tomorrow.
