    Xavi Simons

This transfer is a good example of 2 things: 1. It shows why people say wait until the end of the window before declaring it a disaster 2. It shows why it’s better to get the RIGHT player late rather than go down your list to get a player in early (before pre-season/tour/1st game)

I was going to wait until his debut to be doubly sure. But screw it, I’m going early. He’s definitely ours now. Fantastic!!

Maybe park a broken down car at each exit as well

I’m not sure what point you’re disagreeing with here tbh. My point is that we’re a long way off competing with those at the top. Our fight is the bottom half of the top half, with Brighton and Forest the least likely to get Europe. And ourselves fighting with Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Villa fighting for...

We have a squad that can finish in the top half. We’ll be fighting with Villa, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Brighton and Forest for the 5th-10th spots. I think Brighton and Forest will finish bottom of that mini league. On your point about strengthening, we’ve strengthened more than them, but we’re coming from...

Possible but highly unlikely. We had a slow decline over the last year and a half. But mainly because the top 5 are so much stronger now than 2 years ago, I’m including Chelsea in there. I just don’t think that’s our fight this year. Our fight should be to get back into Europe, so around 7th.

Absolutely. However we finished 17th last year and if, as you say, the squad is nothing special then it would take a lot more than one summer to jump from 17th to competing with the big boys. It doesn’t happen very often for a team to make that kind of jump. Unless of course you rate the team...

It does seem pretty simple doesn’t it? But clearly it isn’t, otherwise every club will get all the players they need, early in the window for every window. But they don’t. I’d love to be a fly on the wall to know the exact details that are holding things up

    Savinho

This got me thinking, so I looked up Messi and Ronaldo, they’ve scored 5 goals in a game twice each in their entire career. For someone to do it 6 times would be extraordinary. And to do it in one season is otherworldly, stuff of legends.

Interesting graphic. The 2 things they all seem have in common are carrying and key passes

Now they definitely know they definitely need Rodrygo, maybe!

Their LB Ait-Nouri went down twice too and was subbed

    Morgan Gibbs-White

Forest never made a public statement, it was done via their journo mouthpieces. We responded through our journo mouthpieces that we had done nothing wrong, it would delay the deal but we still expected it to go through eventually. If Forest themselves made a public statement, I expect we would...

    Morgan Gibbs-White

Just looking at it from a Spurs angle, I would probably just walk away from the deal. Here’s a guy who’s partner is in distress, and us elongating the legal fight with Marinakis, who was not backing down wouldn’t have sat well with me. But it seem like he wanted to come, hence the CL reference...
