Anyone remember that Bale chap?

I honestly don't even think Rooney is in that third tier tbh.

Especially not after his **** show on Wednesday night. Not sure it helps that he is malleable to playing different forward positions. Just keep him in one position consistently, like the season where he scored 30+ goals, and I feel he still has that spark to deliver the goods.

"IF" is never good but I reckon that if he would have stayed one more season we would be looking at one of the best performances a PS season has ever seen...

For me, he could have won the World Player of the Year Award. He is one player that lives up to his ego. Best out and out striker in the World.

Nail. On. Head.

Anyone remember Shearer and Lawro questioning him as a player during Euro 2012? Oh how that fell on deaf ears

I would take Falcao and Lewandowski over Ibrahimovic. For someone who talks such a good game his record in the CL isn't all that great. Has he ever got past the quarter finals?

Bale hasn't qualified for the World Cup, he hasn't won the Premiership, played in an FA Cup Final etc but is his quality really disputed on that basis?

I know there's a difference but I can't see how Ibra's past and the success, or lack of, of his team can be put against him. He's achieving so much more than either Lewandowski or Falcao at the moment.

PSG will win the Champions League this season. They have been the best team in the CL that I've seen this season.

I'm gutted that Ibra won't be at the World Cup.

I would argue Bayern and Real Madrid have been better. I use the same barometer for every player in every sport, you have to deliver on the biggest occasions and for me Ibrahimovic just hasn't done it at the business end of tournaments.

Falcao is injured at the moment but he's the best no.9 on the planet in my eyes.

Lewandowski just last season scored 4 goals in the CL semi final against Real Madrid, doesn't get much bigger than that.

Bale is a fantastic player.
I was near-destroyed when he forced the move and went back on his word this summer.
As a football fan, I hope the CL Final is Bayern v Madrid, and somewhere, I hope he wins the CL and does so with one of his signature worldies…what a player. Miss him.
And Modric...

=D>

I watched their game tonight, Modric was bossing the game. We can always hope that one day, Gareth wants to return...not holding my breath

Can we move this thread to general football?

Every time I see this thread it just makes me miss him even more :(

By far the best Spurs player I've seen, literally has everything.

i still see him as a spurs boy and i think he will come back to us someday :)
but we were all privileged to have been able to witness the making of a world class player week in week out.

Not bad for a young lad playing his début season in a foreign country...

@tottenhamtalk1: 20 goals 16 assists this season. Contributing to 36 in 38 games. Pretty class. #Bale
