Anyone remember that Bale chap?

Very few players last more than 4 or 5 years at Madrid

At 29/30 he would still be an incredible player

If I was Levy I'd keep that door open

Yep, the sort of player Man U would fork 60-70m on and one which we wouldn't be able to afford. Genuinley think United is going to be his next stop if he leaves sooner than the age of 30 or so.

I believe from his statement once the transfer was completed our Daniel has certainly left the door open. "Gareth is welcome to return to Tottenham anytime" or summat.

Exactly. We're a notch below the kind of club who Madrid would sell him on to I'm afraid. He'd probably end up somewhere like Emirates Marketing Project or dare I say it, Arsenal :-& We all now how Madrid love doing them favours.

It depends if we are talking about Bale coming back after Madrid when he is 29/30 and still a proper player, or if he comes back at 33/34 for a bit of a nolstagic end to his career.

People forget that its not just a case of Bale "wanting" to come back to Spurs, even if he does say it. If it is when he leaves Madrid he could probably still go to any other top team and win titles/champion leagues.

Firstly, we wont pay the huge transfer fee (it wont be a freebie like Teddy), secondly can we afford his huge huge wages (as rich as he will be, and as much as he "loves" Spurs, he will still command wages that I doubt we could match). Thirdly, why come to us when he can win honours elsewhere.

I honestly cant see him ever returning until his twilight years, if that. No point even thinking such a thing.

I agree Shaney, by the time Madrid are done with him (looking current wage increases), he'll be a 300k a week player at least by then.

I've always thought he'd end up at United

Agreed. Even if the new stadium is up and running by then I doubt we could afford a 29 year old Galactico' transfer fees or wages let alone match his trophy winning ambitions. Best we can hope for is a final hurrah when he's in his mid 30s, like Klinsmann and Sheringham' second stints.

Bale: "I'll never forget the great European nights at White Hart Lane. They were amazing."

This guy just can't get us out of his mind can he?

Id have him back at 29/30/31/32/33/34/35

I fricken loved this bloke, what a player, was a privillege to watch him for 6 years at the Lane

Very entertaining game that. Wales had some great chances to win it too.

I'd love us to sign Pjanic. Makes the game look so easy.

That Bale 'chance' was ridiculous. For any other player there was no chance of a goal. He was the only Welsh player in the opposition half. Two men on him. But for a finger tip save he'd have won the game.

He has such a strong accurate shot on him. Combined with great pace, he can ran away from many players with the ball.

Then today Harry Rednapp talking about how close he was to signing Suarez at Spurs, and how not doing so was one of his greatest regrets. Can you imagine: Modric, Bale, Suarez?

How different things could have been...
