So do people still think there's a conspiracy against Bale not to pass to him? Missed 3 fantastic chances and had the fewest touches of any Madrid outfield player in the first half.

I think it's inevitable that they will sell him to United.

I'm indifferent to Bale. I certainly hold no grudges that he left (although the way he left did leave a lot to be desired), you can't blame a player for wanting to play for Real Madrid. But some people still love him almost as if he still plays for Spurs, I find it a bit strange.

Yeah I'm not saying learning a language is easy, but you would think he would have learnt the basics in just under two years, you know, things like "pass me the ball" "the most important thing is the 3 points" and various other cliches that footballers churn out.

You're making too many assumptions, but if you think that I care about Bale because I left a comment on a forum about him then so be it. Truth is, the only time i watch football for the past year is when Tottenham plays as my interest has switched to other sports. The only time I hear about Bale is on this forum.

I will say that your third language is at a higher level than mine if that is the case, but be careful with certain idioms and phrases you might think are appropriate. If you are 8 years old and trying to antagonize your older brother, using the old "calm down" might work a treat, but it's not a phrase that grown ups tend to use unless they are wind up merchants.

People get upset when I take meanings from the definitions of the words chosen, what have I assumed other than the information you have posted? The biggest assumption is from yourself and others who'll be up in arms over headlines, it's not surprising that you haven't followed Bale or Real Madrid particularly closely, I had guessed as much and how you've chosen to answer points that I have not made was fairly predictable from the off as that's a good defense mechanism for those without well informed opinions.

It's the general football thread in case you haven't seen the title, I'd go as far as saying the placing of thread is impeccable, being that it is football related and as not directly linked to Spurs it would be a general football subject.

Have you had the chance to analyze Mr Bale's language skills one to one? Seems like you have a thorough understanding of the matter, are you providing tuition to him at this point in time? I'd be very interested to know how he's doing but am not stupid enough to fully believe a throwaway line in a brick article in the metro, for example. Please update me if you can

If there was a unicorn in the sky that could grant wishes and we could afford to get Gareth back, and he wanted to come back, I would take him with arms open all day. Still very proud that he played in our colours and no ill-feeling towards him at all. Same with Modders, two of Madrid's best players (in Modric I actually think their most important) played for Spurs in recent times. I hope one day we can reach a level of success and stature where players of the same ilk have no reason to want to move to win cups and medals.

I don't see the problem with using "he made his bed" in this case. You defined it yourself as " links with negative after effects after a decision has been taken". Has he not had negative effect since he joined RM, particularity this season? Has he not been booed of the pitch on several occasions? Has his car not been attacked a few months back by angry supporters, there is a video of it online? Has he not been slated by footballing media for the past few months? His agent said himself that Bale is tinkled off. Why is it "ludicrous" to assume that, despite of Bale's previous success (last year) and the huge contract he is on, he might not be happy if he is constantly booed and not appreciated and might want to leave? Every top club in Europe would gladly take him on.

Agreed. The new manager may be a massive fan of Bale. Ancellotti seems to like him as he's not dropped him.

Paper talk sometimes is just that, but more often than not, you don't get those stories for months and months without there being something to the stories.

I reckon they may push Rooney up front, solves their issues.

For someone who is indifferent, this is the latest in a particularly barbed set of comments mate. Those touches mean nothing if they're in areas of the pitch where he will be less effective. You do know that in just under two years, he has also won them the Copa Del Rey with an outrageous goal and the CL with a supreme header, as well as delivered some tremendous performances. If people cannot see that he is the focus of a political thing at RM, then I despair...

Sorry, I disagree.
We got into the CL because we were, in the last quarter of the season, able to take advantage of some slip-ups around us (largely because we had less games). I would argue that Modric, Gomes and Bale were the three main reasons we made it. In fact, taking a look at the games he was in for the last third, it's tough to argue that his presence did not have a huge effect on stabilizing the team and giving us (along with Palacios) a balanced midfield which was the platform to nick those big time wins.
