We should offer them a loan swap in Jan for the rest of the season, they can have Eriksen and we'll pay his wages, Bale comes the other way and they pay his, financially they will be in the same boat but have player that is more use to them, same for us.

Its a shame really, Eriksens legacy with us is going to be tainted. I felt that way about Robbie Keane when he left for his Boyhood club.....
 
Difficult situation with the January window coming up. Seems unlikely that he will buckle down and perform until after the window closes at least, by then there's not much time left of the season to actually find form and make an impact.

Him being brought in against Olympiacos and being on the bench against Bournemouth would indicate that Mourinho sees him as having a role.

I think trying to get him out in January, get him out of the PL and get a nominal fee would be the best option. Though difficult to see where he will go.

In these situations the player holds all the cards, they are still getting paid and they just need to sit on their arse and wait for a nice offer when the contract runs out, most players will keep their nose clean and try to avoid any injuries during this period, the clubs are powerless.

Jose likes to win.and he likes options, if something from Eriksen is salvageable this season Jose is likely to try it. Him saying he will not sign still does mean I think Jose more likely to prioritise getting his other options such Ndombele and Lo Celso up to speed. So I think we will still see Eriksen when he's needed or absolutely most suited but I imagine over time that will lessen as the new boys grow in stature and trust.

I agree, but the problem with that is that Eriksen is massively out of form. Without regular game time and with the uncertainty of January coming up I find it hard to see how he regains form to where he starts delivering again.

The only power we have is to deprive him of match practice, he checked out a while ago IMO so if he sits out the whole of the season it should at least have an impact on him and his new club as he will be severely lacking match practice.
I do wonder if this rot has already taken hold, he’s struggled to compete basic tasks on the ball and his game is based on instinct rather than physicality. (The running stats were a misnomer imo, jogging towards the ball out of possession or returning to receive the ball in a deep position are very different to attacking or defensive sprints.)

I don't either. I'm guessing there's something going on that's not strictly related to the individual football games. Mourinho looking for a certain response from GLC, Mourinho not rating GLC for whatever reason, some yet not abandoned hope about Eriksen signing a new deal?

Same here. Mourinho is a wily old fox though so I’m sure there must be something longer term in his thinking.

Jose knows what Eriksen provides.

As many pointed out when he was appointed Jose leans towards experienced pros because he can their already developed performance level. He's probably unsure of what Lo Celso offers, he does t know if he can trust him. The signings we made this summer as much as they have clear talent are not directly suited to Jose M.O.

Given time I'm sure they will gain his trust but it may take some time.
