I was replying to @Rorschach and the advantage the US are clumsily (putting it kindly) giving China geopolitically and economically.

But looking at your infographic....China are pumping out less co2 per capita than the US (surprising considering China are undoubtedly the factory of the world).
They'll need to reign it in though.... perhaps we can all stop buying tut we don't need?

I believe China's CO2 peaked a couple of years ago and has been on a very gradual decline since. The industrial base is sill expanding, but the use of coal to power it is falling as they switch to clean energy.

There is an upcoming EU tax on imports from outside the bloc of 3 EUR per item. So if you are paying an extra 3 squid for each piece of plastic tat you buy, that will certainly curtail some of the demand from sites like temu I would think.
