Come on. It's really pathetic for someone who is supposed to play a team sport to come out with this less than a week before the start of a new season. He's paid to play football as part of a club. Sorry, but this 'interview' is self-serving guff in my opinion.

Look back at the Five Live interview, it started then. Consider that the club had no desire to see both FBs leave in the same window. The Walker situation was very different. I can understand what he has said. He's a grown man and entitled to his opinion, he is a very very good full back no doubt. But to come out in the press and say these things in the gutter press only serves a purpose which is ultimately to agitate a move and invite some clubs to bid.

What a self-serving little clown shoe!!! Danny Rose needs to remember who transformed his career. Danny Rose needs to show some respect. Danny Rose should be told (as I believe he will be) that he is going nowhere this season, and if he doesn't like it, he can train with the youth team/be kept isolated from the first-team squad. Better still, rather than sit and construct bleatings to the media (this is not his first) he would be better served getting fully fit. Make no mistake, he is trying to force a way out because the North West has been in his ear. I know Poch will handle this the right way, but Rose has been showing his arse all summer and frankly, he should put on a pair of fudging trousers and shut the fudge up immediately.

BTW in case anybody wonders why I am tinkled off by him, it isn't new and I certainly thought it had been dealt with for this season. By doing this, he is "vindicating" the disgraceful behaviour of the likes of Mourinho in trying to unsettle our club...

This was always going to happen as the team improved.

I think he feels like most of the fans do. We want to see both the squad and where possible the first team improved upon, but the club either don't want to pay for these players or can't, especially with the wage structure in place.
There is going to be discontent and the only real options for Levy are to operate on a debt for a year or let the discontent fester.

I'm not sure if this kind of brutal honesty from a top player within the club is a good thing or not. I hope it serves as a wake up call.

I think that a key issue in analyzing Rose's comments are the real motivation for giving the interview. It appears that he wanted to give it, and one must question his motives. Is he agitating for a move? A big pay rise? Is it just a result of pent up frustration and concern about his injury? I think most important is what he has been saying to Poch and the club generally. They may have heard all of this, most of which is hardly news -- others pay more, we haven't spent anything, he wants medals, he misses Kyle W. and he wants to go back up North. And I doubt that any of this is news to the players either. As long as he doesn't say I'm going on strike until I get my dream move to [insert boyhood Northern club] I don't think there is much to be concerned about.

Difficult to argue with much of the content in those quotes. He's clearly as tinkled off with our approach to this window as some of us

The hope is we finish 8th and then play just once a week next season and if we keep all our players we will win the league in our first season in the new ground.

I haven't read what Danny is actually supposed to have said, but if we let him and Walker go in the same window, both to Premier League rivals, then that is a huge error. We reinforce the perception of the media (and other fans) that we are a selling club, and send a message out to the rest of our squad that we are not serious about maintaining the position we have worked hard to create for ourselves - so others will think 'Why an I sticking around here?'

I can't believe we'd sanction this move at any level, Luke Shaw or not.

Agreed. If he goes then who is next? Top players are ambitious so can understand them being tinkled of with us being linked to unheard of players whilst even brick teams like the spammers and Leicester, let alone our rivals, are able to land players who will improve them

I think that a key issue in analyzing Rose's comments are the real motivation for giving the interview. It appears that he wanted to give it, and one must question his motives. Is he agitating for a move? A big pay rise? Is it just a result of pent up frustration and concern about his injury? I think most important is what he has been saying to Poch and the club generally. They may have heard all of this, most of which is hardly news -- others pay more, we haven't spent anything, he wants medals, he misses Kyle W. and he wants to go back up North. And I doubt that any of this is news to the players either. As long as he doesn't say I'm going on strike until I get my dream move to [insert boyhood Northern club] I don't think there is much to be concerned about.

I got the sense that he's just tinkled off that we're on the verge of something big but are sitting on our hands whilst everyone else strengthens
