Danny Rose

Doesn’t take much for fans to turn on a player. If a player is happy not to play especially in a big derby game, you would have to question his ambition. If there had been a big problem then we know how Poch deals with them. The fact he played today suggests talk of a rift was overblown. Poch handled it well again.
100%

Nope, you just got suckered into believing there's more to it than it was - he was left out of the NLD for good reason, and whilst being expectedly annoyed there's nothing more to it than that. He could still leave, but will have nothing to do with what happened at the weekend:

Compare it to the Walker situation at the end of last season. I think there are some similarities and we as fans wouldn't know for sure if Pochettino is considering replacing him.

I hope he stays. Cracking player when on form and his attitude on the pitch always seems good. Hopefully what has been is in the past and repaired by Pochettino.

Exactly. The poster come out after anonunced wasnt playing vs Arsenal and said he's definitely gone blah blah despite the fact Poch has demonstrated visibly a good raport with him still, as have the players. Noone knows, he could still leave for sure....

Hope he stays, but only if he’s 100 per cent committed.
I’m still not happy about his openness to the press, especially the slag, gutter press, whatever his thoughts.

A little more insight and, perhaps, an indication that he isn't at odds with the decision-makers.

"Before Tuesday night, I thought I was close to being 100 per cent and then, first half, I was horrendous.
I thought I was getting hooked at half-time and it gave me a bit of a reality check, maybe I’m not as close as I thought I was.
Second half I thought I did better, I contributed quite a lot in the second half."

I personally think he is going, but one of the amazing things about Poch is his man management skills. He does not seem to harbour grudges and gets players who are upset to continue to play for him. Apart from Kane, Eriksen and Dele he seems to drop all players if they are not fit or out of form so it keeps them all on their toes.

I still think he will leave in the summer and to be honest i do not care that much if he does, the reason being was the outburst and dig he made at the club/players in the summer. I do believe though that there are/were some fans who over reacted to him missing the Arse game and made 2plus2 make 5.

I still believe he’s definitely gone. We’ll see. There was a poster on here when the Walker situation blew up patronising everyone saying there was nothing to the story, the press were making it up and he’d definitely be staying.

Lo and behold Walker goes and Poch later comes out and confirms there was a problem - he’d asked for a transfer.

I wouldn’t pay too much attention to what Rose says in the press. He’s been burned badly before so isn’t going to be caught again.

Maybe he’ll stay but I still stand by my belief there’s a problem and he’ll be on his way in January or the summer.

Danny says he was fuming and there was no bust up. i believe him.

And i still think he will be the next player we sell.

That is a very honest self-appraisal, and one I would 100% agree with. At the time I pondered whether he had received ed a massive gonading at HT, because his second-half was years ahead of his first...Poch knows!!!

Like I said before, whether he goes or not is a different question. It was you going over the top on him definitely leaving because he was left out of that game. He’s had a long term injury and was being man managed accordingly. If it was any other player there wouldn’t be an eyebrow raised. He ended up playing the next game in what was arguably our strongest available team....

I wasn’t saying that he was going necessarily just because he was left out of the NLD. My point was that whether being left out on Saturday was a symptom or the cause of a problem, my belief was (and still is) that there is a problem and he will leave.

You can tell Poch is getting a bit bored of Rose though, creating drama for himself. In his latest press conference he’s clearly annoyed Rose has said something that he would know is going to get picked up and made a bigger deal than it is by the papers.

Rose is playing this ‘I’m such an honest, straight talking guy that tells it like it is’ card too much for my liking. I’m glad he feels he is doing better, and you can see his confidence coming back in the Dortmund second half where he felt like he could beat a man one on one. But it always seems to be him saying things to the press that are going to cause a stir. It’s one thing being honest but these guys are trained to give bland responses so the team can focus on playing football. He forces Poch to deal with questions and as much as some fans may appareciate his straight talking nature, I’d rather our squad was able to focus on football without distractions.

As an aside, he’s so obviously gone at the end of the season. This is a truce of convenience.

Think you're spot on. It's like Rose is now hooked on the media attention. Maybe he is he also using it as a subtle way of trying to exert authority over Poch: i.e. drop me and I'll make trouble? Or trying to use the media to turn it into a competition between the big boys for his signature?

Whatever's really here going on, Poch is always going to have the last word because he absolutely must.
