I didn’t say you were being racist. And lots of people complain about their jobs. If people were allowed to insult me as part of my job I would be less than thrilled. And just because he gets paid to do a job many of us would love to do doesn’t mean he can’t complain.
Whilst there is clearly some element of racial profiling that happens (one does sometimes hear similar stories from black professionals in suits), I find the police in the UK overwhelmingly classist more than anything else. In terms of focusing on where they are likely to find criminals, that makes a lot of sense.
I've seen a fair number of photos of him outside of football and he's always very clearly working class.
I think you need to type a waaaay longer sentence and frame it as something like "Whilst I am certainly not saying that you are a racist, some people may feel that what you just said could be construed as racist because you focused on the individual's actions or inactions rather than overtly mentioning the systemic racism which profiles black men in expensive cars. I doubt that you yourself are racist, but you should be careful not to blah blah blah"
