Nah, he's not a defender's defender. His positional sense and judgment is questionable. He gives away free-kicks in dangerous areas because he doesn't use his brain.

The frustration with him is that because of his injuries he hasn't grown out of some of these things and calmed down in his defending. He has so many raw ingredients to become a superb player.
 
He's still our best defender
He can be very good 1 Vs 1 but positionally he's a bit suspect and he often gets caught the wrong side and has to be overly physically get back right side that leads to fouls and free kicks. He is potential that hasn't been realised. This season really needs to be the one where he bucks up his ideas because he's been quite poor defensively since his first injury under Ange.

I totally agree; I preferred Spence over him.
He seriously lacks focus and defensive awareness.
Three managers have come and gone, yet Udogie is still here—I just don't get it.

When I saw Truffert sign with Bournemouth, I thought to myself: damn, why didn't our recruitment team sign him? Dammit
