ENIC

I’d be happy with this.

The Qataris would presumably want Levy to stay around to drive the Northumberland Park development to completion which would be a ballache for anyone else.

The end of that season he said he wanted to leave. He was surplus to requirements, said he wanted to leave, and a big earner, of course they wanted him out the door, like any club would. I'd be more concerned it we hadn't tried to move him on and he was given options to move.

When Lloris came first of all he was brave etc, but as time went on he became cowardly, he never left his line, poor on crosses, and spent half his time falling backwards into the net. It looked like he was afraid to get hurt. That's not a winners mentality.

As for the French team, it was full of winners and leaders. They'd have won that world cup with any half decent keeper in goal. Lloris even managed to mess up in that final but because the French team was so good it didn't matter and was forgotten about.

Don't get me wrong, he was a top keeper for the first 7 or 8 years with us, the best we've had since Jennings and Clemence. But after that, maybe to do with the injury he had, he changed and as I said became cowardly. I don't get how you think Lloris has a winning mentality but that Kane doesn't.

So there were 2 things that annoyed the whotsits out of me with Kane. I'm sure most of us on here have played football at various levels. There's that saying in life "don't kid a kidder". In about 2021, I could tell immediately that Kane was going through the motions with his leading of the line. He would deliberately jump early for the number 9 headers, and in the wrong place. He would make it look like he was going for headers, but he actually wasn't. His pulling out of tackles was clearer, but also more understandable. There were also the times where he deliberately got himself behind an opposition player so he didn't have to show for the ball. He wasn't really playing for that shirt / fans like we see from Solanke, Richi, Tel etc. As for the second thing, that was his passive aggression behind a microphone. It was as if none of this stuff ever happened. He talked like he had run through brick walls for club and country when he absolutely hadn't. That is after his 23 touches all game, even though he nicked a goal. The free kick thing annoyed me as well, but that's another insight into the man.

Whether you think another keeper was able to play in the French side or not, that is not the point I was making. I was talking about his leadership in that entire setup. I'm not a fan of keepers as captains, but I totally get why Hugo was given the armband for club and country. I also think that what you about remaining in your 6 yard box is definitely an older keepers thing. It is not cowardice in all cases. It was in Brad's case though. I actually don't think Friedel left his 6 yard box all the time he was a Spurs keeper. The reason he broke PL records for most consecutive games was that he never put his body on the line. That was cowardice. Hugo did. He was brave in those situations and got himself hurt multiple times.

It will be interesting to see what Sonny would do if one of our current players showed the same level of insolence that he did to his captain. I'd have kicked his sorry arse all round that changing room at half time. Sonny couldn't have been more out of order in that moment and I'm thinking is one of the key life learnings and how he progressed into captaincy himself.

Passive aggressive behind a microphone?? Sorry, that's total rubbish, he's nothing but professional and usually keeps it to same old script to avoid controversy. We'll never agree on Kanes effort or lack of, or on Lloris mentality.

I take it with Son you are talking about when they had that arguement on the pitch? Was again a lack of leadership on both their parts. Neither are or were captain material.

Slave owners sportwashing should never be allowed to invest in OUR club.

Levy in. Qatar out.

Else we may as well have invited Abramovich in and enjoyed all of his “free money” years ago
But think of all the trophies we can buy! The fanbase will be united, and no one will moan about something they know FA about ever again.

This is fairly obvious

- Pre Saudi Sportswashing Machine, there was an argument that it made more sense to buy a bricker club (City, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, even Chelsea where they were when RA bought them), and instead of paying $3B for the club, pay <$500M and spend the money on players/infrastructure
- Saudi Sportswashing Machine, who's owners have $320B (yes, three hundred billion available) have been handicapped by PSR (rumours are they are very annoyed/upset by it)

Summary, Spurs are now more attractive because
- Limited Infrastructure spend required
- Large revenue stream already exists
- Low wages (combined with above, give more headroom to convert investment into spend)

Add in, London, already been in top 6 for better part of 20 years, makes sense.

Well don't know who you think is going to pony up the billions required, it's really

- State money
- Some kind of brickbag billionaire (money laundering, RA type)
- US Private Equity funding (Chelsea is literally scalping their own tickets to sell in 3rd party market), that will bring a whole new level of "you are a customer not fan" and will want their money back plus interest

Really don't know where people think the good option is coming from (truth, I think most people don't care)

I couldnt care, just want one trophy, one thats all. then I will want all until we ram them down every single fans throat and say ha we are the best team in the WORLD!!!

Honestly, as long as you dont read BBC HYS, or go on Instagram, Facebook or anywhere other than this place, then what you dont read cant hurt you. Did Saudi Sportswashing Machine get abuse when they beat us at the Lane because of their owners? As long as its done fairly and not like City and the 134557 accusations then as you say, there is really no good option.

And it's OK to disagree.

It's how I feel, and by the way endorsed with enough England supporting mates with the Kane thing. They don't have the Spurs bias. When I saw him cheating on the pitch, I couldn't unsee it. It was very prevalent to me in those last couple of years.

As for the Sonny thing, Hugo actually showed a ton of leadership in the moment. He got the situation behind closed doors before the media could make even more out of it. He didn't do the Roy Keane thing, which is probably what many captains would have done. He did it his own way. Sonny was bang out of order reacting that way to his captain. Even Jose said that he let the players manage it, meaning his captain. He knew Hugo was in control as captains often are and my guess is Sonny got no support from any other team mate in that changing room. They all know Hugo was spot on. However, the 2 players hugged it out at the end of the match.

The only sadness I had about the incident was that it didn't make anything click in Sonny's head on his defensive frailties. That would have been the best win we could have got out of the incident. Another long trodden subject, but I think we all know now Sonny is not going to change in his defensive capabilities.

Anyway, back to ENIC.

And that's fine, that's your choice and you acknowledging there is a choice there

Where I have issue with is, the delusion of some that there is a "nice billionaire" out there with no baggage attached that has just been waiting to spend all their money for no return at Spurs

I played football at a high level from a young age, and through sheer hard work, I built myself into one of the best keepers in the world, captaining my national team to World Cup glory. With my club, we got to the final of the biggest prize in football, but then my chairman gave me an inappropriate watch, and I thought "ah fudge it".
Or, "look Lloris, your book is going to be great, but we need to add some controversy to sell it, is there something we can spin?"

I have to say, it was a flimsey and underwhelming book.
Not really up to speed on politics - where do the Qatari's fall on the undesirable league table?

On the money.
