You have been great this season mate. You and Tommy. Stalwarts amongst stalwarts.

In fairness many, and most, have been...even those who disagree have largely been great and conversational. Love differing opinions, appreciate good discussion, and love being proven wrong when our club benefits, and in turn, seeing people admit that perhaops they were wrong. Truthfully, everything is a dialectic and there is no true right or wrong IMO...but yeah, to the few who hurl abuse and insults, who looked to goad and insult, I have no time for it and I'll always pipe up.

DL not getting enough love, do we have a DL thread?, the narrative of sacking managers at the first hint of trouble should be buried now.
Stuck with the manager and it worked out.
I bet even a bowl of Pochs lemons can't wipe the smile of his face just now.

The bit people mix up and use as a weapon is the money he has made in his share value, and right he has, but he has spent over 20 years now building the entire 55m stake into the empire we see today including this weeks trophy. 25 years is it now of hard work in a league with so many vipers, sharks, cheats, financial doping, fraud and ethics (I am talking in the game) and its without question that the blokes put his heart and soul into the Spurs you see today which is a far better Spurs than they took over, that would also be true without the UEFA Cup.

You will get people lie about the Rangers quotes being about Spurs or lie about their mates being with him in Uni and him not being Spurs or quoting articles that don't exist.

Fact is anyone who puts 25 years in trying to make Spurs better, even if there is a golden egg at the end (as do players and managers with over inflated wages) deserves credit IMO.

It was always complete and utter gonads, every manager he sacked there was a large portion of the fan base baying for it with the exception of Poch.

Its a complete wash, we have all wanted and demanded players and managers who have failed and then never mentioned them again......People making comparisons to Man United & Liverpool who are true legacy clubs whilst trying to pretend there has been no progress for them to make them ridiculous comparisons. Football and politics where people who couldn't make out they could and could do it better......

Chairman Daniel Levy provides his regular end-of-season message for supporters in our official matchday programme for today’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion...

Dear all,

We did it. What an unforgettable night it was in Bilbao as we ended our long wait for glory.

This is a huge moment for the whole Club, an historic achievement that sees us lift our first European trophy since 1984.

This Club has been on an incredible journey on and off the pitch since we last won silverware, the League Cup, in 2008 – establishing ourselves as one of the biggest in Europe, moving into our new stadium and experiencing some incredible moments – we knew a trophy was the missing piece.

We’ve come so close on a number of occasions and never quite got over the line – I have never wavered from the belief that success is just around the corner.

I’d like to thank Ange and the players for making this incredible achievement possible and thanks to all of our amazing staff – there is so much hard work that goes on behind the scenes and this moment is for everyone to enjoy.

I’d also like to thank you – the fans – for staying with us and carrying that same belief. I know it’s been hard at times and I have shared in that pain and frustration along the way. But when we all come together, we know we can achieve something special.

Your support – whether that was in Bilbao, in our own stadium or in pubs and homes around the world – was the driving force behind our team.

This is one trophy – our clear ambition as a Club has always been long-term, sustained success, competing for top honours every year. We have now tasted success and we are determined to use this as a springboard for more.

Let’s enjoy this moment as a Club together, finish the season strong with a win today and go again next year.

Most of all, be proud. Come on you Spurs!

Daniel

Fair dinkums - very, very well done to Dan.

Whatever happens with Ange in the post-season (and I think the chairman's message @tommysvr posted is pretty non-commital in that regard), Levy saw us tumbling to the worst league finish in nearly a century, and held his fire long enough for that to pay off with the best moments many of us have experienced following this club through all the rain, and all the trauma.

A less resolute man would have pulled the trigger, and the magic would then never have happened. For that, he'll always have my gratitude. :)

Now he has a huge call to make
Sack the only manager who has actually got us over the line in anything
Or keep him and twist against a guy who has overseen the worst league performance in modern history
Not easy calls and both have context even if some fans don’t want to see it

Some of the things they said on that pod above:

Wage bill went down for the first time in a while, with Kane and others leaving.
Average transfer net spend over last 5 years is £128m per year.
Our net transfer bill i.e. still owing to other clubs over the next few years was pretty high at £280m.

Solanke Odobert Bergvall Kinsky came in post June so weren't factored into those accounts.

We had 10 more home league games including 7 Europa and 3 Carabao Cup MNU MNC LIV so would get about £4m for each of those.

League merit payments hugely down about £30m, offset by Europa money and Super Cup roughly £49m although some of that will go to the players and managers as bonuses.

Champions League next year could be worth another £35m for crap performance or £90m for reaching the Quarter Finals.

Due to the money from EL and CL we can probably maintain our usual range of transfer spend, as above.

We are very restricted on CL squad places, even getting rid of Davies Richie Bissouma and not registering injured players like Dragu, Deki, we are struggling to find room in the 17 places for any new transfers that aren't home grown or club trained or whatever. So some players might only be registered for the Prem.

Gray and Bergvall will be on the B-List after next season, so we should keep doing that (buy young brilliance). U21, been at Spurs 2 years.

This will be such a massive theme over this summer window. It will partially shape our transfer strategy.

From next season onwards. Not this summer though. We have enough pipeline coming through for club trained and association trained, and homegrown for the PL rules. We can have a summer without filling this important pipeline.
