Rory 8 over on the opening day - and on home soil

Gonna take a miracle for him to make the cut tomorrow.
He was utter toss from the 1st shot to the last, started with a quadruple bogey and finished with a treble
Still an amazing player but I just don't think he has the hunger anymore

You can play the course for £150, I'm very tempted later in the year to go over and play it

Great course, but take the wet weather gear! The Bushmills Inn is a good place to stay if you do go - it’s a fairly short drive away and means you avoid Portrush itself.

They said he was in form and had more top 10 finishes this year than anyone, coupled with the fact he knows the course inside out, must've just been a bad day at the office

Gutting though, You always want to see him up there challenging but you are right its starting to feel like a long time ago now

Real luck of the draw so far, those who played yesterday afternoon and played this morning have had the best of the weather so far
Its been sunny, no wind this morning and now its raining and the wind is picking up

Looking like Rory is going to win the Fedex Cup and $15m !!

He has been brilliant this week and is grinding Koepka into the ground today

The flowers at Augusta will look odd in November, such a beautiful course and although I am not a regular golfer and really not very good at it, I do enjoy watching the Masters.

Live match coverage will air from 2-6 p.m. ET on May 17 on NBC, Golf Channel, NBCSN, Sky Sports and other PGA Tour global media partners.

Format specifics have been announced for the TaylorMade Driving Relief charity match, less than a week before live televised golf returns at Seminole Golf Club.

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson will team against a pair of former Oklahoma State standouts in Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff in a team skins match on May 17. The format means that each player will play his own ball, with each team counting the lower score between the two players on each hole. McIlroy and Johnson will play for the American Nurses Foundation, while Fowler and Wolff will play for the CDC Foundation.

With all money going to charity, both teams will start with $500,000 in the bank. From there, hole values will increase as the match continues: Nos. 1-6 will be worth $50,000 each, while Nos. 7-16 will be worth $100,000. The 17th hole will be worth $200,000 while No. 18 will feature a $500,000 skin.

Breaking down the numbers for this month's TaylorMade Driving Relief, a match involving Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy vs. Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff.

In the event of any ties, the dollar values will carry over from hole to hole. If the 18th hole is tied and play concludes before 5:45 p.m. ET, players will head to the par-3 17th and play it from approximately 125 yards. If the teams are still tied, they would return to the 17th tee and decide the remaining skins and money by a closest-to-the-pin contest.

If play concludes after 5:45 p.m. ET and the teams remain tied, only the closest-to-the-pin option on No. 17 will be used.

Additional bonus money will be awarded for low scores, with players earning an extra $25,000 per birdie, $50,000 per eagle and $150,000 per hole-in-one or double eagle. All putts for birdies or better must be holed and won't subject to concession, even if the putt doesn't affect the team score.

There will also be two long drive contests, with $100,000 going to the longest drive on No. 2 and $150,000 on No. 14. Tee shots do not need to finish in the fairway to count for long drive purposes.

I was supposed to be playing at Vale do Lobo next week.

#worstthingCOVID19did.ever

One thing Queensland has done well here during this pandemic (and other states have now implemented) is golf has been allowed as a form of exercise and mental wellness. Restricted to 2-balls only and each must have their own cart/buggy. There are no rakes in the bunkers so you play preferred lies and you cannot touch the flagsticks (most courses have packed the holes so the ball only drops in a cm or two so you can pick it out without touching the stick). No ball cleaners on the course and all equipment must be wiped down before and after use. Oh, and no alcohol as then it would be a licensed premises which are not allowed to trade during restrictions.

it has been a godsend for us hackers as it gives us an escape and the beauty is you get round in about 3 hours max in 2-balls.

Playing Links Hope Island here on the Gold Coast tomorrow, very nice course and as we are heading into winter the temperature should be about 25 degrees.

They've just said you can do similar here now - can only play with one other person from your household. Will probably try and get a round in by myself over the next couple of weeks - just be nice to get some air.
