Injuries

I think the review is something of a red herring - if you look at the stats its a simple case of too many games for too few players, the idea we're not on point with all modern medical recovery and repair techniques is highly unlikely.

They either need to unshackle the clubs in terms of squad size (which will create massive issues with the rich clubs buying everyone in sight) or reduce the amount of football they are playing (more chance of the titanic pulling up in New York in the morning).
fair point ... then it comes down to the coaching - of which to be honest i am growing more and more sceptical with every match.

i mean which team reintroduces their starting CBs returning from injuries in the same match only to lose them to injury again? ange has got to be first for this, he is poor at man management

I would put a limit something like each player can play a maximum of 50 club + 5 international games a season (extended to 10 in world cup or euros years).

Just basically kill off pre-season tours and international friendlies.
Nah... you want pre-season. Gives teh body a warm up.

Go into a season, with no pre-season and players giving 100% with no time to adapt from rest... It would be chaos.

Pre-seasons are for a reason, and that is warming and preparing the body.

Most teams manage their players pretty well. We are having problems, because we have manager who has new heard of the word team management. Leaves dead players on the pitch refusing to take them off.

Happens a lot mate, especially when unrelated (e.g Romero). Remember players always want to play, they will say they are ready and whil original injury may be ok, body has lost match fitness

Not saying the sheer scale of our injuries over two seasons with Ange doesn't need to be looked at, but player being reinjured is very normal.

This actually happened didn't it? It wasn't just a dream.

It was probably part of the plan, to intentionally rush back both CBs so we lose them again. Not having your 1st choice CB pairing is a top tier excuse so doing away with that one would be counterproductive. It's just rather unfortunate that we are the only team who suffers injuries and also, rather outrageously, have to play a lot of football. I mean, what do we think we are, some kind of "football" club? Ridiculous.

If a player is fit that means they can play.

How they came to be available for selection is the issue and why we are reviewing our medical procedures.

Who's the next back? Anyone close?
Udogie was back on the bench Vs Liverpool
Bentancur is not back for the PL

Noone else is expected back Vs forest

Then Davies and Moore, and apparently Richalison aren't far away.

Moore is back training, not sure about the other 2

ange can't be so stubborn as to go for an all out attacking high pressing game again?
we will have to call up our u21s to the first team if we get more injuries
and with our luck, all the players will suddenly be fit with 3 games til the end of the season

First time?

I'll get hate for this. But if all players were swapped at half time, we wouldn't need all the breaks for subs, so the game would flow better and the game would be played at 100% for the whole 90 minutes rather than in a rest state. And you'd get to see more players and more quality variance and really test out the squad. And players would never be in the red zone. They could easily play every 3 days, or even more often.
I know most people hate this idea, but it would be a solution and would mean fewer injuries and more footy on the box.

Haha, I love your left field brain bursts. 😂 I really do.

I find it baffling that we don't rotate more than we do. Porro has been running on fumes for a couple of months already, even though Spence showed back in September that he was more than good enough to play. Similarly, rotate 2 players every match, let people have a bit of rest, sub important players early if we're in a big lead etc. I don't understand why Kulu and Big Dom played the entire game against Southampton for instance, when we had Lankshear and Bergvall on the bench.

Apart from Moore’s illness and Vicario’s ankle surgery, everyone else is hamstring injuries

Which suggests to me that we have yet to properly calibrate our strength and conditioning work to help these specific injuries and the way we play/train. I do wonder if we have a situation whereby there are professional levels of S&C going on BUT they're not specifically tailored?

I'd love to know why there isn't more yoga for example? Are using that lovely large swimming pool at Hotspur Way for appropriate recovery work? I mean, you'd hope so?

Should be doing more pilates, Giggs said it helped him recover from years of hamstring injuries. Great for core strength as well.
