It’s the same as sliding in for a tackle and not the attacker getting there first but his touch may hit you… you’re still taking the attacker out and it’s a foul. We have a history of doing that

Maybe someone will correct me but I'm not aware of other than handling the ball goalkeepers having different rules than outfield players.

The gks knee hit maddison before the save. Even if it didn't it was dangerous. Just as an elbow when going for a header or a tackle studs showing is a foul.

Hence why we got a penalty.

Looks like you're the only one who sees it that way.

I thought it was pretty clear that the keeper (leading with his knee, which is very dangerous) makes contact with Maddison before the ball hits him.

Could easily have been a red card for endangering an opponent as well as conceding a penalty
