dude she is like 13 years old
Noticed Vertonghen wasn't afraid to play it a bit dirty yesterday - he made a meal out of both yellow carded tackles from Adam. It paid off as well, with Adam (rightfully) being sent off. Question is, would Adam have been sent off if Vertonghen didn't scream and/or clutch his legs after being tackled?
Personally I'm a little bit divided when it comes to this, because ideally it shouldn't matter how a player reacts to being fouled. But when it clearly does matter, and referes are affected by the fouled player's reaction, is it still the right thing to do? Adam obviously deserved it, the venomous little maggot, so I'm glad Vertonghen did what he did yesterday. But a part of me thinks this is also the first step in the direction of Chelski's Total ****ishness™, which I don't want Spurs to be a part of.
Am I wrong?
I love Vertonghen's winning mentality though. Something that we've been missing in most players for years.
Watch the first challenge again, yes he didnt catch him but Jan was lucky as Adam's foot was miles high and if it connected it could have been very serious.
Personally, I believe in Karma. That fat toss deserves everything he gets.
Don't get me wrong, I totally agree. Both challenges were worthy of yellow cards, and I was laughing as hard as anyone in here when Adam was sent off. I'm just questioning whether Vertonghen's reactions made it easier for the ref to pull out his cards - because I've certainly seen fouls like that go unpunished many times.
The first booking to me is a little harsh. I would be disappointed if I was booked for that as the ball was bouncing around just yards from the goal and it was there to be won. It was high and I can see why he was booked but it was a little unlucky. As for his second yellow, I think he does catch the heel/achilles of Vertonghen and after you have been booked, why would you even attempt to make that challenge? Its just so braindead it is untrue.....on a par with Benteke really. Sometimes I wish Footballers would just think about the bigger picture before doing something on the pitch but on this occasion I am glad he didnt and as has been said, karma has rightly come round to bite Charlie Adam on the backside.
Maybe thats exactly what he thought? Why on earth would anyone go in like that on a yellow card? All i know is that he owed us.. For me its was a bit of payback as I think we would have struggled for the 2nd goal otherwise..
he owed us?
I guess he means because he nearly destroyed Bale career?
