I have a theory that we want to see the next 10 days out and see where we are at in the leagueyou have two options:
1) wait til Summer
2) make some serious play now when CL football is achievable - imagine that back into the coffers
Pointless though, we've been here before and Levy shat his pants.

If come then we’re bang up there (as I expect) the club can twist on a few players
If not they make other calls …
Bit of course it’s just my logic
Copy and paste againNo because we have no money for obvious reasons.
To spend it requires investment from our owner. Unfortunately however, Lewis absolutely will not offer any financial support on player recruitment under any circumstances whatsoever.
This is because he has no love for our club or its fans.
Good point. These are our recent PL proven buys:You know I used to think Prem proven was important but Doherty has proven me wrong in that regard!
Without going through Redknapp’s transfers, the point I was making (a little tongue in cheek) was that Lingard and Traore are players that don’t strike me as the type of strategic buys or opportunities I was expecting with an experienced European dof at the helm. Lingard hasn’t established himself at United and has similar attributes to a player we can’t seem to accommodate in our current formation, whilst also being 29 and likely to command higher wages than many if our current first team and Traore’s suitability has been debated by many regarding his suitability for us (perhaps as we are more exposed to his strengths and weaknesses then say someone like Gil)
Whether we've got £60m or not is another matter, but that doesn't sound extravagant for a top striker. If only we'd saved the Ndombele money.Fiorentina want most of their 75m euro (£62.6m) asking price for Vlahovic up front but Arsenal want a compromise on the payment structure of the deal. Good point. These are our recent PL proven buys:
Doherty
Hojbjerg
Rodon
Hart
Bale (2nd time)
Llorente
Sissoko
Wanyama
So you need to go back to 2016 and Wanyama for our last PL proven buy that was an undisputed success.
When you look at that it’s scary. Five seasons since we made a decent buy from the prem.
Our recruitment is toilet. Remember being linked with Bowen for a while and then it went cold . Turned up down the road and looks a player. Sad times. Think a lot of frustration over past couple games is that it’s landed just how wasteful we have been with the money that we have spent.
Take Tanguy for instance there were story’s about his application before we signed him. Did we not do our due diligence or did we think we could get a song out of him .

I’m sure it was under Poch that we were linked . Decent player. I like Moura but he’s very hit and miss . Bit like Son , love him but he goes through streaksI was going to raise the Bowen thing. Badly needed a RF who could come inside for several seasons. We went with Bale for the short term angle. We now have Moura who is deemed by many to be playing his best stuff for us. He has 5 combined goals/assists in the league this season, Bowen has 12.

On bowen, if we had signed him how long would it have been before accusations of cheap and unambitious were thrown around?
I reckon minutes.
Like signing Clark , Rodon , Doherty . Except Bowen was already looking to be a talent. On bowen, if we had signed him how long would it have been before accusations of cheap and unambitious were thrown around?

Comments on players aboveGood point. These are our recent PL proven buys:
Doherty - are we playing him out of position?
Hojbjerg - was a success initially, probably get our money back and is still first choice
Rodon - Championship proven, not fancied by 3 different managers
Hart - Bought in for cheerleading qualities!
Bale (2nd time) not the worst goal return we’ve had from RWF and he couldn’t move!
Llorente I really thought this was a risk free option perhaps seduced by that 15 goal season
Sissoko - to this day no idea what the thing was behind both the purchase and the fee
Wanyama - still miss him!
So you need to go back to 2016 and Wanyama for our last PL proven buy that was an undisputed success.
...but not fans expectations or aspirations. There’s a fair bit of context needed on some of those.
eg. Llorente, Sissoko, and Hojbjerg have all filled their remit. Bale had the best goals to mins ratio of any player in the Prem last season, and was stupidly frozen out of key games against Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Everton. That’s on Jose.
