Kyle Walker-Peters

I thought he was ok.

I got annoyed with the amount of passes he made to Sissoko, it wasted many an opportunity. I hope to see it less as he settles and feels more senior.

He carried the ball forward, often had a forward pass on, but instead checked and played it to Sissoko, who then checked and just returned it or more often played it back...

The whole dynamic just slows to a halt when its like that.

And seemed very much to me like a young player just deferring to a senior one. As players feel more like they belong they take more responsibility themselves, I want to see this developing in KWP.

A great example of the tinkle pore decision making at the club ATM.
KWP is simply not good enough so its now down to Dier or even playing Toby back there!
We are not hopefully going to use Foyth back there and Aurier is off, bloody mad management strategy imo

KWP could well be good enough, but he needs to step up and start acting like he belongs.

If it walks like a duck etc.........
The lad is in way over his head. He has and never will be EPL material. He was more Hobson's choice before he was injured.
He seems like a good lad but he has been thrown in at the deep end as part of this bizarre period of team construction at Spurs recently.

I dont think we have seen enough to be that absolute at all.

He has talent, and doesnt look out of his depth - even if he does look like he can improve.

Yes, of course, he can improve and I hope he does! But what flabbergasts me it's just another position we make things difficult for ourselves by selling/trying to sell our two starting right-backs!

I'm sorry mate that's gonads. A few MOTM performances don't lead you to believe he has ever been EPL quality? Whether he stakes a strong enough claim to be considered our number 1 RB is a big question yet to be answered but you're doing a kid a massive disservice.

Imagine many said the same about Adam Smith (footballer not the fat ugly Scot Economist) when he left the club and he's been solid for Bournemouth. I understand people not wanting to jump on bandwagons when it comes to youth products as they can be overhyped but being absurdly negative about them is far, far worse.

Anyway, I thought you were too offended to post on here? Glad to have you back but not if it's slagging off Tottenham lads to be honest.

I agree

He has been on par with EVERY RB I’ve seen the prem this season so far IMO

I am of the ’opinion’ he is defensively below par for us! Quite who will play there is beyond me!
But lets look on the bright side he is better than Foyth at right-back!

I will stick with KWP. I think he has the talen, he shows good awareness and is able to keep possesion pretty high up the pitch. We know he can get a good cross in as he has assists for us but the deep sitting teams have negated this.

he needs to improve defensively that is for sure. that will come with games. But I feel our whole defence is playing bad at the moment. Every goal we have conceded the player has been pretty well unmarked. That is just bad play.

I think he’s EPL material, certainly potentially, but I thought he was awful against Saudi Sportswashing Machine. There were a few moments where he was way out of position, another that sticks in my mind of him dawdling when he had all the time in the world and got crowded out.

Maybe part of this is the whole team isn’t very cohesive, but after a decent performance against Sterling I thought it was a backwards step.

He is better in the opposition half than ours! What really worries me he has little time to learn and ease himself in to form!
Is it Sissoko or Dier for Arsenal?
Toby should have course but don't see it!

I will give him a season before I decide, to him some time to adjust to playing on the big stage.
Was sceptical about his potential but the first two games he seemed to grow into his role, and became better overall.

still some shortcomings but he has given me hope that he is a fast learner and can still adapt his gain.

winks on the other hand for comparison - I think he is near peak performance, and can only expect marginal improvements from him.

Hasn’t travelled for the CL game apparently and seeing as Aurier has also been left at home to rest, I think its pretty clear something has happened and he likely doesnt have a future with the club.

Seems odd as he’s never really let us down from memory and has turned in some motm displays.

Hate how poch has treated KWP, but given he keeps picking Erikson have lost trust in Poch team choices.

When Poch goes I think we’ll see more of kwp, but not until then.

A big mistake out against Barcelona but apart from that a few positional mistakes. So far less then Aurier, never understood why he signed a new contract. We should have loaned him out to see him improve back when he was 19.

I thought he was toast since Poch started playing Sanchez/Foyth ahead of him at RB last season.

Then he signed a new deal, and I thought "great, must mean he will get a proper chance then"

And then he continued to be toast.

I dont rate him particularly highly, but I do think he is competent, and I do think he is never going to improve without games.

While Aurier is being Aurier, KWP really should be afforded some chances to impress.

That he isnt even getting on the bench? Something is really quite wrong there.

I dont know if Poch has bombed him out for some reason, or if he has done something to deserve this treatment, but it really does seem odd considering the way the alternatives are playing.
