Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Gutted that it didn’t work out. Loved the way that Pochettino transformed the club at first, sadly the highs have come to an end and the league form in 2019, and the accompanying performances, demanded that action be taken. It’s sad that it’s had to come to this but with Pochettino eyeing up potential opportunities elsewhere even before the summer, is it any shock that Levy didn’t show Pochettino any loyalty in the end?
So to finish, thanks Pochettino for the highs, for back to back CL, CL Final, and some good league performances. Good luck in future. Now let’s get in an excellent replacement.

I realise emotions are high, but what a ridiculous statement.
.
We didn’t. At the first sticky patch we have just sacked a man who regularly gave us something the club had been striving for for years, ahead of schedule with all sorts of adversities overcome.

Some of us fans deserved him perhaps but not the owners of our club. Without Poch’s over achievement the chairman’s huge overspend on the stadium could’ve bankrupted us.

I can see if they are thinking about January, and whether to invest, they’ve clearly decided they can’t trust the guy when ‘domestic results weren’t satisfactory’ and this is why the decision has come.

I was about to add on more factors - the Amazon documentary for example. And then I thought that maybe the club wants someone that is comfortable with the ‘big time’, not someone that needs a small club, low pressure environment to work.

but then I come back to the idea that I think they’ve got this wrong. I don’t think they get Poch. We usually pick up in late November under him. And he’s been dealing with a core group of first team players who don’t want to be here. And he’s going to end up somewhere bigger than us.

poorly handled. Poor decision.

The only way i can justify it is if during the meetings recently Poch has made it clear he doesn't have the desire to turn it around here - otherwise it's a horrendous decision

Tottenham have sacked head coach Mauricio Pochettino after five years in charge of the Premier League club.

"We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste," said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

"Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing."
Statement sums it up perfectly and accurately.
No one wanted this to be where we got to.
But football is a results business, not a biographical business.
Results and performances have been poor for about a year and show little to no signs of improving. The CL run last year papered over alot.
Poch did an amazing job for 4 years and has built on the work of Jol and Redknapp more than I think any of us could have imagined.
Immense thanks for all of those achievements.

It was a fantastic tenure of THFC by Poch, one of the best in our history.
It's no longer working and everyone moving forward is the best and correct choice.

Good luck to Poch. He will always get a round of applause from me.

I don't think we'll see the heights of the last 5 years again for a long time.

A very dark day

My thoughts exactly. Big gamble by the club.

As Carragher just said on Sky, if the Emirates Marketing Project or Liverpool job became available immediately, he’d be high up the list to take over.

Hope Poch actually comes out now and speaks as to what’s happened behind the scenes.

Amazon documentary is warming up a treat.

in all seriousness, I would like to know how I could send Poch and staff a message of thanks. Would anyone know how to do that? DM Perez on Twitter I guess but how else could it be done? Whether you think it’s the right decision to sack him or not, they deserve more than just to be kicked out and on their way.

We don’t start the season like this normally

I’m sure he will end up somewhere bigger than spurs, but he will still have the same flaws.

He was picking those players most weeks.

Redknapp on talkSPORT now.

saying he’d think Ancelotti or Mourinho. And he’s walk there himself to take the job but isn’t expecting a call!
