Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Quite the opposite, imo.

I think he's put absolutely everything into this job and is in need of some time to decompress, rest, relax, and evaluate.

The last thing he needs is to jump straight back into that sort of work again

Yeah, it’s not like he’s worrying about cash to get Maurizio a Playstation and a chocolate orange for Christmas.

I agree that he'd struggle with a large squad of galaticos. I don't think that he could get them to work as hard as his preferred way of playing demands.

I think that PSG could work, he played there and is soft about things like that, but would need time to clear out the players that are only there for the money.
Based on the youngsters on show today, man U could suit him.

I disagree, if he had the energy to do the job properly he wouldn't have been fired.

Have a month off or so then go and manage somewhere other than in the EPL.
Sitting around counting his money will serve little purpose.
His kids will only humiliate him FIFA and depress him even further!

Eight points after fourteen games. OM are 2nd, eight points behind them takes you to 15th.

It wouldn't be until next season, the little magician has another two transfer windows between now and then.

He's won the league in 66% of countries he's managed for more than two seasons in, he's won it in 100% of the countries he's won the league in, it's just a matter of time.

OM are doing well. They had a tough game tonight and made a little heavy weather of it but are playing some good football. They have a fair way to go to catch PSG and Poch is an infinitely better manager than AVB.

I think he should go away and take some time out and recharge his batterys. By the time next season comes around he will be up and running again.

I agree. Take a break and start a new job in the summer. I think that towards the end, he was suffering from exhaustion just as much as the players.

for me, the jury is still out on that one

And disappointment. I think he felt that having committed finally this summer, Levy would back him. I think he slowly saw it wasn't going to happen, most likely knew movements behind the scenes and is probably deeply disappointed. This will have been a massive learning curve for him. He used to say it was up to Daniel, but I am not sure that deep down he believed it could happen to him regardless. He has been handed a lesson in the cruelty of football. Which will continue when this team does win something under a man who most certainly knows how to win trophies; his team, brought the final step by a cold, hard, experienced and highly successful professional. I agree, he needs a recharge and some rest. I have no doubt whatsoever that when he comes back, he will be Poch mkII, and that he will go on to have a really successful career.

I think the worst thing he could do is jump into another job - even more so if its United.

He will be expected to hit the ground running and the pressure will be massive on him as they have been after him for a couple of years.

Whilst it would not be his fault if they didnt get top 4, the press would not see it like that.

Interested to know why given what Poch did for us over 5 years versus what AVB didn't do in half that time?

I think they both took us on a step, looking at their careers as a whole AVB has won titles in two countries and the lesser continental competition.

Yes, you can say that he had the best team in Portugal and Russia, but Poch had the best team in the PL for two years and didn’t convert either into a title.

There's been a fair bit of revisionism on here for the last few days but that's a belter.
