It was looong, but never boring. Tried a little hard to push emotional buttons and the epilogue dragged a bit. Don't remember much of the original cut, but this was far superior. Much like The Chronicles of Riddingdong, it's set up for an epic sequel that will never get the necessary funding.

It’s miles better than the original
I read the original was made with his footage hence the issue
And this did cost $70m extra TBF

You're lucky. The original cut is one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Not watched all in one block, but don't see why people are so excited with it, it changes some parts sure, but doesn't resolve the major issue of it being a rushed movie hashed together to try and compete with MCU but failling miserably.

Anyway, The Suicide Squad trailer just dropped, looks a lot better with James Gunn but again, for those that saw the original, another clusterfudge of a movie rushed and cobbled together that WB/DCEU could have knocked out of the park but instead didn't think it through. Could have been their version of Guardians of the Galaxy if they tried to make a proper film and not a rushed movie and spent more time jizzing themselves into a frenzy on trying to make a universe.

As with Justice League, one of the big problems with Suicide Squad was that changes were made afterwards to what the director originally had in mind. Ayer is not happy with the end-product. That wouldn't solve all the issues with Suicide Squad but I'd be curious to see what he actually had in mind. There won't be an Ayer cut though.
