Watched Coda last night...kind of film I should have watched with the wife.
It's very good. Well trodden rights of passage stuff but sweet, humorous and well acted.
The moment that really hit home for me was when doing the duet performance in the hall and the beauty of the song/music (You're all I need to get by) and then the director killed the sound to portray what her deaf family we're experiencing, hit home (I know it's obvious) how sad that all music EVER, makes up no part of a deaf person's life.
Yes that's true, her dad in the film loved a bit of gangster rap in his truck for the heavy bass.Deaf people can still enjoy music. Just it would be more vibration. Evelyn Glennie is a great example of a deaf musician. She performed the opening ceremony of the london olympics.
