Two first time watches for me in the last week (which is rare for me as I am a creature of habit)
Seven Psychopaths - fudge me how have I not seen this film before? Haven't properly laughed during a film as much as this in ages, it is right up my street. Something about the dry dialogue mixed with insane people/ happenings. Unhinged Sam Rockwell is peak, alongside Christopher Walken just being fudging brilliant. Added that it's a sort of a film within a film and I love things being a tad meta.
I don't feel at home in this world anymore - First off (and it'll go down like a lead balloon on here) it was great seeing a female lead that wasn't a Lara croft / wonder woman type but actually someone that represents a real person. Somehow a very charming film despite it being about vigilante crime, some really funny moments alongside excellent character work. Not sure if I've loved to much that Elijah Wood has been in outside of LOTR but this was excellent. It was recommended on the it's always sunny podcast and as I am sheep I have it a go having seen in on Netflix menus previously, and I am glad to have done so.
