***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur FC v Everton, Sun May 24th, 4.00pm, The Lane***

I have to say, I was really pleased with the application and effort, even if it was lacking in creativity. The players finally “got” how dire the situation was and put it right. Thought the performance was excellent given the nervousness around the game and the overall situation and ramifications. Helped by Everton not turning up mind.

We’ll be right back in this situation again next season if we don’t have a major clearout. However, let’s just enjoy 3 stress-free months of no PL football and hope the club get their brick together and sort out the recruitment and the overall direction of the club.

I agree but it's never felt the same to me as WHL. I've always gone to Spurs with family members but felt since we went to Wembley its been more like a family day out than going to football
No its not the same, but as bricks and motar its not solely to blame for poor atmospheres

I have some sympathy with him, you can only negotiate based on what you are given. I dont know anyone in his role in football who can talk a player into bed without the help of money.

Him and Danso coming in.

Brighton mistake aside, Danso has been flawless

Not sure he's of the required level if we want to march up the table.

But certainly one of the few that can hold his head up high
Danso for me should be a nailed on starter. He is one solid defender and, although not Romero with the ball at his feet, not too shabby either.

If Romero stays and Senesi comes in, we'd have an awesome rotation at CB. If Romero and VdV are offski, we'd still be fine with him, Senesi and Vuskovic.

The officiating against us was horrible all season. So many times where, what was whistled against us in one was let go for the opposition in another game. I mean, we need to raise such a stink about this that refs will think twice before giving a decision against us.

That’s 2 seasons in a row we’ve finished 4th from bottom, we just can’t keep doing this.. Aside from injuries our forward line is so poor. Hopefully this time those in charge have learnt a lesson. We need to spend big on at least 2 decent forwards. I’d put in a massive bid on Junior Kroupi. We cannot go into next season relying on Solanke and Richy (as much as I love Ricky’s battling). We need to look what Man Utd did last season after finishing in their lowest position in the Pl. Bought 3 forwards 2 of whom were proven in the PL. We have to do the same and there’s no place for sentiment. I actually think we are ok defensively although we need a decent number 6 to come in to learn from Palhinha. Out with VIc I’m afraid, Kinsky gets the nod for me. I’d sell Romero too and use the money to get the forwards. This club deserves to be competing at the top not losing more games than it wins. I’m sick of it.
Yeah, but we did 3 points better this season. That's progress...

I keed, I keed... 🤪

Made a meal of this relegation fight, and of the season. We were hamstrung by attacking injuries, but at least we finished with some momentum to take into September.

De Zerbi, through sheer determination and a press, got it done. He’ll also have a much clearer idea of the squad now, rather than arriving in the summer and needing a season to learn about his players.

There’s still uncertainty - how Kulusevski, Maddison, Kudus and Odobert will return. It’s not easy for the club to strengthen the attack when you don’t know who’ll be fit. Hopefully they all come back strong after an enforced break, and we can complement them with a few new signings.

We underestimated the loss of Son, especially once Johnson went, and Kudus went down as well. One thing you have to give this club: it’s never uneventful.

The 4th biggest improvement in the entire EPL this season, surely that means (if ENIC properly back RDZ) we’ll be in the CL places next May!

I would be tempted to take John Stones on a free. I assume its Senesi for Romero, VDV to stay maybe with Danso and Vuskovic.

Robertson for Ben Davies, plus 2 maybe even 3 new forwards.
You’d think Senesi would be a VdV replacement since they’re both left-sided CBs.

I might be wrong but I thought after they lost to Arsenal, West Ham were on 36pts from 36 games, and Leeds were sat on 43pts from 35 with us to play on the Monday night.
I am sure they were safe before kick-off, unless my memory is failing me?

Let’s not get on Leeds’ back. We shouldn’t have been anywhere near the situation we were in - that has f uck all to do with Leeds, or any other team.

Crazy we got more points this season, the standard last year must have been terrible - we were awful for ages and never got near relegation.
