OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v Rangers ** Thursday 12 December 2024.

A cold thursday night in Glasgow, with a team well up for meeting an English side with Ange in charge. They will come out all guns blazing. I don't think they're as bad as some seem to think they are. It'll be close, and the team with the most fight in them will win. I reckon we'll lose because of that, but obviously hope I'm wrong.
Trying to be optimistic...

Could be a good game for us. Test of our ability to match their will and fight, but also our ability to show our quality in somewhat different circumstances.

Will be good to have Bentancur back in. Pers I'd like to see Bergvall in the starting lineup too. We really need to rotate and he's looked good in sub appearances recently.

I can't remember when that changed but at some point, I went into every game confident that we could get a result. It's certainly more the case than ever with this team. On a side note, I'd say a win would be welcome. Regardless of Postecoglou's job security, there's a huge psychological difference between a sketchy patch of results and a winless streak.

We're the better team - at least on paper - so the game is ours to lose.

Thought Bergvall looked his most comfortable in the game against Chelsea. He kept it simple instead of trying to do too much. Wouldn't mind see him starting or given a longer run out coming off the bench.

He will be getting more minutes now
Said it the other week, he looks like he has bulked up

I think they are pretty brick.

But we are a fudging mess, we’d lose to a cluster of colour blind hedgehogs, in a bag.

Hahaha, that's the funniest thing I've read for a while. 😂

Agreed. I would love to see Bergvall again. He's looked hungry in his last few cameos. Let's hope we're truly up for it, we really should be.

May very well heve bulked up a bit. Thought he looked quite physically strong in preseason and earlier this season too.

But he also seems to be getting used to the pace of the game at this level and getting more comfortable with not always having to make something special happen to prove himself.

I want to know when Spurs are playing again.

Tired of watching this Sunday pub team, wearing our colours pretending to be us.

It doesn't matter what team we put out... I doubt we will string more that three passes together.

There's only been one short period of my 30+ years of supporting this shower that I've felt confident going into every game, which was the mid-period under Poch. And that felt weird.
Now I go into every game expecting to lose. We've just reverted to the mean.

1 win in 7 games...the more i think about it, winning this game might be far more important than Sunday's game at Southampton.

Go as string as possible to get the 3 points and EL back on track. Confirming something to look forward to in March might galvanise us a bit more when the choppy waters of December and January hit...

It’s absolutely crucial to win both.

I know where you come from. It used to be like that for me. Supporting Spurs in the late 80s-early 90s in France, I had walk to a certain newspaper stand in order to get British papers (still remember the article about the tribunal deciding Jason Dozzell's fee and Sugar's quote: 'We didn't expect to pay that much'). Teletext made it a tad better but then watching Spurs in the Premier League era meant going to English/Irish pubs in Paris and Spurs were usually only on when they were playing ManUre, Saudi Sportswashing Machine or Ars*nal.

Let's just say, those weren't my most enjoyable experiences. Lucky for me, my best mate was an Everton fan, so he was even more miserable than I was.

And then, at some point, maybe under Redknapp when we beat Inter, I stopped going into these games expecting a loss. I'm not necessarily surprised when we lose, but a win isn't completely unrealistic either. I have to say, I'm in a much better place now!

TEAM NEWS | RANGERS VS SPURS | VAN DE VEN RULED OUT

Wed 11 December 2024, 17:50|Tottenham Hotspur

Micky van de Ven is ruled out of Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Rangers, says Ange Postecoglou.
Sidelined through November with a hamstring injury sustained against Emirates Marketing Project in the Carabao Cup on 30 October, Micky returned to the starting side for our defeat to Chelsea on Sunday but came off with 11 minutes to play with some tightness in the same muscle.
With the quick turnaround to our outing at Ibrox Stadium (kick-off 8pm UK), the centre-back has not travelled with the squad to Glasgow and is set for an indefinite spell on the sidelines.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of tomorrow evening’s European tie, Ange said: "With the weekend's fallout, Romero and Van de Ven - we're still getting clarity around their prognosis - but both have picked up injuries that will keep them out again."
