Think people are being a tad harsh on Gazzaniha over that t near post goal. They're often much more difficult than they look imo.
Hopefully Gazza has not allowed it too affect him too much, we need him to be at his sharpest for the Barca game if Lloris continues to remain sidelined.
Disagree, it was blasted from very close range, right in the corner, no blame for me. If he had saved that we should sell Lloris and set fire to Vorm.its quite basic goal keeping. the defender should be covering at least the far post or the cross across goal. keeper has got to keep his eye on the near post.
i'd be more forgiving if it were a shot to the roo, or squeezed right in at the foot of the post, or took a deflection, but that height looked savable
Yea no way has Gazza been at fault for any goals so far. Had Lloris conceded them no one would be mentioning them as mistakes.
He looks a bit dodgy with his feet though, so blatantly right footed
Thought he made an excellent save today from that long-range shot one of their players had, he absolutely pinged it.
That's my whole point, those near post shots at that sort of height are seldom as easy as they look.its quite basic goal keeping. the defender should be covering at least the far post or the cross across goal. keeper has got to keep his eye on the near post.
i'd be more forgiving if it were a shot to the roo, or squeezed right in at the foot of the post, or took a deflection, but that height looked savable
The way it was curving wickedly towards the inside of the post, that save had to be pretty special, and it was.Thought he made an excellent save today from that long-range shot one of their players had, he absolutely pinged it.
I understand the frustration with Hugo and Vorm, but this guy has done nothing wrong yet.
Im ready to give him the chance as first keeper tbh
He's been solid and dependable, which is the number one assets for a goalkeeper. The same thing that kept Friedel in goal for a long time, despite the fact that we had bought Lloris.I understand the frustration with Hugo and Vorm, but this guy has done nothing yet.
No, that was AVB's 'man management'.He's been solid and dependable, which is the number one assets for a goalkeeper. The same thing that kept Friedel in goal for a long time, despite the fact that we had bought Lloris.
I have quite often defended Lloris for rushing out unsuccessfully in the past. Decision making won't be perfect. Be brave, win most, lose some, positive net result. There was mistakes a plenty there tonight for the first goal, son escorting Messi into space to play a pass, tripps position when the pass came and Hugo misjudged it.
It's wasn't his finest night but let's not go overboard on the critism.
