Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Thurrock Council went bankrupt under the Tories, Croydon conservatives admitted their issues contributed to theirs

He may have lied about getting in but the blame on all of that is shared IMO

It's interesting isn't it, that after decades of short-term, narrow thinking by our politicians, the same mistakes keep being made. An example of how trying to "raise" public revenue by increasing the tax burden on the private sector is that, the public sector depends on the private sector, so it's a self defeating prophecy where it goes:
- government: "the unions and public are up in arms, we need to spend more money on the NHS and defence....let's tax businesses, they can afford it!"
*hi fives and back slaps on a problem solved*
....few weeks pass....
*knock knock*
- government: "who's that?"
- HS2 programme: "It's me. All of our contractors have told us we need to give them more money to complete the project"
- government: "why?"
- HS2 programme: "They can't buy the materials they need or pay their sub contractors because you hammered them with taxes"
- government: "oh....i guess I did."
*gets chequebook out*
......few days pass.....
*knock knock*
-government: "who's that?"
-F35 programme: "It's me, Rolls Royce want more money from the MOD to maintain our engines."
- government: "WTF why?"
-F35 programme: "because you've clobbered them with extra costs"
- government: "not again!"
*gets chequebook out*
*knock knock*
- government: "who's that?"
-NHS: "It's me. I need MORE money"
- government: "MORE money? I've just given you a sh** tonne more money and I'm pi**ing everyone off into the bargain"
- NHS: "yeah....about that, Siemens want to put our prices up for our CT scanners....and all the pharma company's want more money too....."
- government: "oh....hmmm ....let me see what I can do...."
*knock knock*
- government: "now what?"
- Birmingham council: "I'm bankruot"
- Bradford council: "me too"
- Chorus: "and me", "and me", "me too", "yeah, same here"
-government: "Wait....wh....why? How?"
- Everyone: "our suppliers have all put their prices up"
- government: "FFS!"
*hand goes up*
- government: "what is it?"
- voice: "we could raise taxes on businesses?"
- government: "f**k off Rachel"

Not even that.

The first video is from 2023 and talking about 2024 CTax - a period before Labour were elected.
The second video - it's unclear when it's from, but it is certainly talking about a Labour idea and why the Tories haven't done it, so it likely to be about 2024 CTax too.
There is no mention of CTax freezes in Labours manifesto.

The 25% increase is a possible statutory lever, but not guaranteed. As it stands, Councils can increase within the statutory limits only.

The above is just misinformation click bait for idiots.

So today Reeves cuts £17 million from a 'highly successful' maths support programme in our state schools
Reason the fictional £22bn black hole
Yet on the same day she gives £17 million to Hamas-infested UNRWA

Labour literally hates the UK

You can if the money isn't wasted.

I've met some local councillors - I wouldn't trust them to tie their own shoelaces (half of them couldn't reach) let alone manage a budget.
Yeh, I know many invest in things to make more money, but some have done stupid stuff like hand over massive cheques to grifters selling wind farms they never had to sell.

Councilors should be paid roles.

It's an outdated system - local councils are in charge of huge budgets and works that are far too important for volunteers.

I doubt most people would be willing to pay the extra taxes to fund it in the short term. In the medium term those tax levies would be reduced by efficiency savings.

Keep posting that crap mate if it helps you to believe it's true. What a joke. Of course Liz Truss loved Britain.
