I was done the moment they "discovered" the numbers they'd had from the OBR months ago meant they had to increase taxes.
It took them less than a week for the veil of a party that understands economics to fall and reveal a bunch of Trots.

I’d say 10 - minimum. People won’t quickly forget the last few years of catastrophic government.
If you'd like another example - look at unions donating to the party and then their members immediately getting paid more of our money.
That will be orders of magnitude larger than any contract won by Conservative donors.

The next election will be a very different proposition and unlikely to result in a big majority.
A lot will happen on 5 years, but a hung parliament is quite likely I think. UK politics seems like it's moving away from two party politics.

That is a fair concern - and one we can judge in 1,2,3 years etc.
But it certainly isn't the case at present and the rhetoric coming from Starmer Labour is for reasonable pay rise levels for industries whose pay structures are not profit generated.
That is entirely different to lining Tory pockets on falsehoods.
Public sector Vs private sector working is a choice - in the public sector you should have an expectation of steady and reasonable pay increases to reflect national economic conditions; in the private sector you have made a choice to be at the mercy of market forces, and therefore both it's boom and bust cycles.

One is a rise in wholesale prices that the government have little control over.
The other is a pledge to cut bills by creating 'Great British Energy' so the government does have more control over those prices and enable them to reduce UK bills, a reduction he estimates would be £400.
Now it is a bit disappointing that he hasn't set this up within the first 60 days of government (lol) to counteract that wholesale price increase but probably not as disappointing as people that want to conflate two separate things just to be negative by virtue of firing off silly memes from their various feeds everyday.

In 2023 Labour received £6m in donations from trades unions. Within a few weeks of getting elected, they tinkled our money away on over-inflation pay rises for doctors, nurses, NHS managers and train drivers.
There are individual links too.
Wes Streeting has received over £14k from unions over the last few years. Pretty much all of those unions have members in the NHS who have received pay rises.
Louise Haigh has had over £24k from unions in that time - her dept has signed off on ridiculously large pay rises for obsolete jobs.
