Richarlison

I would really like for a reporter to ask him what level he thinks Lanks is at and why he doesn't get proper mins

This is my biggest gripe with Ange.

Stubbornness aside. Why hasnt he blooded the youth? He has a free hit. No one will blame him if they dont hit the ground running/not up to it.

He could leave at least leave a modicum of legacy if these youngsters came good earlier than expected.

he will when he has no other choice - like how he did with grey, bergvall, spence, kulu in the middle - then we find out they were good enough

Will Richi play on Thursday? If he plays, he scores but he seems incapable of playing for 90 minutes.
His thigh. His groin . Rinse and repeat. I rate Richi as a centre forward but he seems permanently crocked...and when we only have 2 forwards, having one of them constantly unavailable is horrendous.

The problem with groin strains is that rest is the best cure. Otherwise they just linger.

The last thing Richi will want is rest.

We have to get rid of him. Hes Lamella on steroids.

Play Lankshear on Thursday and focus all Richy's conditioning on Liverpool

Did you watch Hoffenheim? The youth came on. After the adrenaline, it was clear they couldn't hang with senior football. I know people are tinkled with Ange but at least we should tell ourselves some truths. Very few of the Spurs academy are as good as Gray or Bergvall. Also choose to give Ange credit for some things. We have no idea what he has been told concerning Spence and Reguilon.

I would, yes. I think the gap is still just enough that we can/should do it.

But I would also have made better team selections and not lost to Everton and Leicester

So just to clarify, when you post about us and the championship, you don't actually believe it will happen?...

He has blooded some youth which says a lot about the other youth to which you're probably referring. I would love to see Lankshear start up front on Thursday and it makes sense to do that but if he doesn't then they'll be a reason for that. This free hit you refer to, if he does start Lankshear and as few other of the academy kids on Thursday and we fail to beat Elfsborg or whatever they're called, do you think the fans will understand because he bloodied the youth?

I wouldn't say start the game or any game with all the under 21s but there is surely the case to bring them on with 65 mins gone. Not 89 mins gone. I can't see how we could do any worse tbh.

It's too late now anyway. He's done what he's done. That's my biggest annoyance with the bloke. He's flogged the same players week in week out when we have some very successful youngsters on the sidelines. And then complains that everyone is knackered.

I agree to an extent but how can we claim these youngsters are successful? What have they done to be given that accolade?! Ange may or may not be a good manager, that has been debated a lot elsewhere but I'm sure he's not stupid and if we need a goal and he's not bringing Lankshear on until the last 5 mins there has to be reason for that. We can't say he doesn't use youth when Gray, Bergvall and Moore were regularly getting minutes even before all the injuries

I think you've made a huge assumption there on their readiness for mens football. Same things were said of Bergval earlier this season.

Against Hoff, the youth were Gray, Bergval, Moore, Lanks and Olusesi. The last name in that list Olusesi entered the game in the 89th minute but still managed a 30-40 yard carry relieving the pressure on his team mates. Lankshear really should have got us a free kick in a very dangerous area. If Solanke had done the same nobody was saying he wasn't ready for first team. It was a foul and poor refereeing.

In true Ange fashion, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Ange can come up with his narratives like his recent one "it's not fair to the kids" but the reality is different. If you came from La Liga to the PL, there would be an assimilation period. There is the same thing as well with kids to mens football. Ange also has a choice of picking some 19-21 year olds from the the U21s rather than the 16-18 year olds. This is also his choice that he conveniently forgets to mention.

The good news is that we do have a bunch of our kids playing mens football - Phillips, Vuskovic, Abbott, Donley, Devine, Scarlett etc. We'll be more equipped than most when their turn comes for first team, and the current lot are out on loan in their place.
