Richarlison

Even accepting these facts, I would still rather Marmoush in the 9 position, in an RDZ system, than Richy. With no Europe I think we have better options than Richy for that spot. Just my opinion.

Tel…yeah it’s close. But again I go back to the behavioural standards point. I happen to believe that’s important enough, when we have Solanke and Marmoush infront of Richy, to see through. Again just my opinion.

I think the club has let RDZ down in not improving options in the 9 area regardless of Richy, I think we are seeing that laid bare now

What you said was : Maybe the players that we do have might started getting a bit annoyed with a prevailing narrative that Richy is the saviour of this team

You've then spent a several pages trying to explain why that isn't what you actually meant.

I'm done

Yes! And I’ve explained in the post you quoted, and a couple of pages back, what I was going for. Why are the players going to be annoyed at what Billyiddo on glory glory thinks? I clearly wasn’t saying the narrative was yours, I was talking about why RDZ might feel the need, when asked that question by a journalist, to go to bat for the players he had selected, rather than one that he didn’t.

Clearly I’ve had to spend several pages explaining because you, as a forum staff member, have accused me of talking gonads and misrepresenting people’s opinions, and dying on a hill, and creating straw man arguments / not understanding what a straw man argument is.

I think it is good that you are done.

If we take Richy out of the equation like we had sold him, If we have so many good options why are clearly not manifesting themselves into goals?

The fact people can't even acknowledge we are a striker short regardless is just all levels of delusion that I think is linked to not being able to say that the clubs maybe made a mistake this summer.
We would be a striker or two short whether Richy was registered or not.

Why are the players going to be annoyed about something that doesn't exist? 😭

See that's why I think Richy not being registered is a non issue. It makes no material difference either way.

Well it does because not only have we not added numbers to where we need them, we have reduced them further needlessly. I would rather have Two 9s on the books than one for the very worse case scenario that those on the rank before them get injured (very probably in Spurs case).

I just don't believe in the prospect of self harm

Personally not seeing him stinking up the place is a boon for me. 😊

I like you I think would have kept Lankshear not because I think he'd neccesarily be the answer but options are a good thing to have.

I just don't consider Richy someone who is an option anymore. I would have signed Balogun or David, or ideally Ramos or Jackson. Hell I would have taken Welbeck over either of them. 😆

Are you actually just trying to wind me up? Is this a massive rib?

I am talking from the perspective of RDZ. He’s faced with a question in the press conference. I think he would have wanted to nip an idea in the bud that there is a way back for Richarlison, because otherwise he’ll he asked it every week, especially if results are still tough. And he wants to back the players he has actually registered. He doesn’t want there to be a narrative that things would have been better if Richy was registered.

I’m happy to keep explaining my position as respectfully as possible and in as much detail as you’d like. But it’s all written down, it’s very clear, and honestly I think it is you that is misrepresenting what I am saying.

Whats being a forum staff member got to do with anything? Out of interest? I have seen this levelled a few times on various posts?

Would you not expect a standard of behaviour from a staff member on the forum that is a little bit higher? That is a good example? That makes the place feel welcoming, engaging, and that all opinions can be respectfully heard? Rather than accusing me of misrepresenting others, and of talking gonads, and refusing to let it go while simultaneously accusing me of dying on a hill and actually being the one doing the misrepresenting themselves.

I think the majority of that is fair debate, robust but fair

People don't have to like each others views on here or get on TBH

Lets be clear, RDZ and the club have created this situation - RDZ first brought it up in the pressers and continues to fuel that fire rather than drawing a line under it - i mean that whole reference to the Brentford loss was crazy and invites scrutiny, going 3 nil down in the very next gane just couldnt have been any more poetic. He and the club decided to not register the player, instead including an injured Simons who will not play any sort of part in the season. He continues to send out teams that are not doing the business on the pitch. If there is any sort of narrative surrounding Richarlison it has been created and maintained by the manager and the sum total of which is that we've mishandled the situation, rather than there being any implication of him firing us to the promised land.

Perfect summary TBF

So your challenge if you choose to accept. We made 5 big signings this summer. Which one would you sacrifice to get the number 9 or would you be able to find a Senesi/Robbo type free transfer.

For me, this is the challenge our club had. There is a dearth of good strikers around as well, and that was probably the determining factor why the club offered Richi a new deal to buy more time. He was probably feeling that he didn't want to be a squad player in our setup and declined.

There is a lot of grey area in this topic, but the crystal clear black and white piece is Richi's unprofessionalism using social media. Therefore I'm backing the club's stance 100%.

That’s all fine mate. Fair opinions. I happen to disagree because I believe that the cultural and behavioural standards impacts will benefit us longer term, and we shouldn’t be rewarding unprofessional behaviour. Having a slow start doesn’t change that in my view.

They have created the situation, and I’m glad they did. I do not think we are missing Richy, and I don’t think we need to be rewarding unprofessional behaviour.

None of this also doesn’t change the fact that you went on at me for pages, misrepresenting what I had said and done.

I would have pushed Palace buttons and taken Mateta for short term. I doubt we would have needed to forgo a player for him, given we wanted Everton lad for 65m.

I think Marmoush is the #9, when you look at the way De Zerbi ideally wants to play he is perfectly suited to it, the problem is it’s no longer 2022 and the game has moved on.
