Yep, it's not as though Bentancur was playing like Messi and was irreplaceably wonderful.For the majority of those games Frank had Gray, Bentancur and Palhinha available IIRC. That's with Sarr away at the AFCON and Bergvall never given a chance to play those roles under this manager.
I can definitely understand the short term, just need to win the next game, focus. But when we don't win and a couple of those players get injured and we had options available it's not a good look. The next games are no less important.
Keeping him on in every game, was just shooting yourself in the foot.
Essentially Tom Frank was guaranteeing himself that Bentancur will (a) be pretty tired in the next game (b) be out for 3 months with major surgery, it makes no sense.
