She was closer to being run over than she was to being shotErr she was very nearly 'collateral damage.' But, for the gung ho inadequate with the gun, that was no consideration clearly!

So chatting to an ICE officer is a crime justifying being shot at? You'd be happy if your missus or daughter was shot for chatting to an ICE agent. Man, you are seriously unhinged if you think that justifies the partner's life being put at risk. Interesting though, because this thread provides real insight into the minds of the extreme right. BTW, when did anyone place her under arrest or say that she would be put under arrest? Some ICE officers were waving her on.Keep up. I mentioned it earlier today.
18 USC 111 makes it a crime to (amongst other things) impede an agent from performing their duties.
It also has been used to prosecute people fleeing from arrest and/or refusing to leave their vehicles.
So only the three federal crimes.
No, parking your car in their way is clearly illegal. So chatting to an ICE officer is a crime justifying being shot at? "She floored it." Hyperbole much? Yeah the car accelerated AFTER he put a bullet in her brain! No, parking your car in their way is clearly illegal.
Nobody put her under arrest because they didn't have a chance to. She refused to leave her car and then floored it as soon as someone tried.
You do understand that you apprehend the person before reading them their rights don't you? You don't run after them shouting them at them.
She's in a 2 ton brickheap. It's not going to accelerate quickly - doesn't mean she wasn't trying to."She floored it." Hyperbole much? Yeah the car accelerated AFTER he put a bullet in her brain!
Being in my way on the road would be. Moving or not.I'm glad Scara isn't in charge, as he would make a parking infringement a capital crime.![]()

Here's another expert opinion from someone who spends a lot of time in cars.Near every expert on the subject has said they judged it tactically inept, uncoordinated and went against all training given in these situations.
Whats turned out to be an extra spanner in the works, on another tagent, there has been loads of resistance from ICE to wear body cams, I can only speculate why, apparently in Chicago they had to be forced through the courts to have them. Some have made compromise on go pro but that makes for question marks over "lost" data cards. Makes for even more clouds with all of this.
If she pointed her car at him, why did it veer off to the right away from him, instead of crashing dead ahead? You can see her turning the wheel to the right. Here's another expert opinion from someone who spends a lot of time in cars.
Don't point your car at armed officers. It increases your chances of not being dead.
How do you know what tactically he should have done. Initially there is no obvious need to be tactical. I agree with the comment about uncoordinated - colleague going for door when his guy is stood in front of car was stupid move. But once car is coming towards him as i said split second instinct to go for gun and frankly i understand why.And he had no reason to be stood in front of the car filming when he had the footage which is needed, literally the point, tactically he was a macaron, he had what he needed and put himself in front of a car. They also argue, pretty much to a person that filming a developing situation divides attention at that point and there is zero reason to do so
He can't see where she's steeeing in a split second. Fact car ended up going right is irrelevant to his decision. He reaches for the gun before the car turns. If she pointed her car at him, why did it veer off to the right away from him, instead of crashing dead ahead? You can see her turning the wheel to the right.
But it plays against the "cold blooded murder" .....fact they f*cked up and created a bad tactical situation doesn't detract from fact you have an arguable case to use force when you see a vehicle suddenly reverse then come towards you.He absolutely ambles, more interested in filming than being aware of the situation, that plays into the other criticism of divided attention.
Its an absolute shambles of what should have been a coordinated approach
There is literally no subheading that says "standing in front of a car is a practice widely discouraged due to inherent danger" *unless you are filming on your mobile phone, that's an absolutely shambolic response.
A retired LAPD SWAT lieutenant who now teaches use-of-force techniques to officers across the country, said that departments have discouraged car shootings because of the potential danger it creates.
“Bad tactics always lead to bad shootings,” he said. “Even if you’re trying to arrest someone who’s trying to flee, that should not result in an automatic death sentence.

You know, the fact is you consistently get emotive and personal on this. Which says to me your judgement is clouded and biased.Because ive spoke to a highly ranked mate from the Met and read half a dozen tactical opinions from Ex ICE, Swat, US Police and US police legal.
I know you have this complex mentality about life and you think you know better than the experts and thats fine, but you don't, you really really dont.
Sorry if I trust all them over a man on a forum who confuses to have an irrational fear of someone based on their appearance and language spoken. I wouldn't trust you with a passport let alone your opinion on tactical gun use in a moment for that reason.
You know, the fact is you consistently get emotive and personal on this. Which says to me your judgement is clouded and biased.
Yep you make it personal. You simply can't debate without constant digs and insults that are totally irrelevant to the subject being discussed. As such, I'm going to leave it there with you and use the ignore button for the first time on this forum. It's not personal, I wouldn't trust anyone with irrational hate or fear in their heart about people based on appearance to make the right call on an incident like we are discussing.
The fact I have spent some of today speaking to someone who knows more than any of us here and reading testimonial responses to the incident from experts is the opposite of being emotional, clouded or bias.
Comparing it to Chris Kaba in the UK is ǰfar more emotional and clouded as you seemed swift and intent to make a comparison to score points. despite how ridiculously different they were at all levels.
But we will leave it there, you obviously think you know more about tactical operations than ex ICE agents, thats not going to change by anything anyone on here says.
