So, what happened today?

I have been asked to provide 5 years worth of bank statements to an employment agency. I have some gaps in employment - so I sent them evidence I was not working for those months (under protest). Now they want the rest to evidence that I was working for whom I said I was working as they want to have me working ASAP.

Worse, they have queried with me some investment income I had in Those statements I did send to them.

These pricks contacted me with the job. I don’t even now what hours they expect me to work etc. Took a direct question to establish the day rate they quote to me was also to cover employers national insurance.

These people are brickheads.
I’d be telling them to fudge right off

Solid advice to give to unemployed people (that would like to stay unemployed).

Due process / diligence and all but it’s mad the hoops you have to jump through to even be considered for positions, never mind all the flimflam you have to deal with once you’re actually working. “Work” in its current form is an outdated and macaronic idea, feel free to judge those outside of the charade (not aimed at you Bedford, just in general), people patting themselves on the back for doing 40 / 50 hour weeks in a meaningless job* are presumably just avoiding their awful family or other serious issues. Technology has moved on far enough that we shouldn’t be destroying ourselves to make rent.

*Nurses, teachers, emergency services, people actually building something tangible like a house have very meaningful jobs before anyone jumps at me

Too many get caught on live to work treadmill, rather than the work to live way of life.

This company has now asked me how to get a reference from my own (closed) limited company.

tossers.

I cannot be bothered.

Just had an argument with PlusNet (mobile phone provider in the UK)
Live these convos…

I cancelled the contract two months ago.
You didn’t respond to our texts fella so you can’t have…
I didn’t get the texts
It’s in our terms and conditions…
Yep did you text my car?
Sorry but it’s in our terms
My car can’t read your terms and conditions and doesn’t read text messages… it’s illegal to text and drive
But our terms and confirmations say…
This went on for 20 minutes with me repeating I can’t receive your text as the SIM card is for my car….
Eventually they got typically snarky (they are based in the Wirral and moved into full on scouse angry mode) and then agreed that I can’t have revived the text so will will cancel and credit me
It was for £12.80

I currently have a stray kitten with what looks like a broken leg in my room, having called the RSPCA (having waited 40 minutes on hold but I appreciate they are genuinely busy) they’ve asked me to keep it here until tomorrow for collection. I also have an Indian on the way (playing to type living in the West Midlands) so will see how that goes having to open the door at least twice to get out and in to my room if the good people delivering food respect my request of calling when they arrive as I often cannot hear the front door door being knocked.

I had grabbed some dreamies on a coop trip previously and the fella / lass seems to appreciate oat milk in a ramekin so I should be able to keep him or her occupied but will let you all know how it’s gone by tomorrow.

@Danishfurniturelover I apologise for looking to help a four legged feline being, but thrive off the annoyance it must bring to you to help one of these creatures in need:D

Nothing wrong with helping someone in need

If you wish to promote the trade in living creatures to become the property of humans. That is between you and your conscious. I owned dogs in the past. Clearly I am further along in my journey to redemption.

Enjoy subjecting a living breathing creature to your whims and wanton desires.

I agree 100%. The little dude / dudette just had mammoth case of diarrhoea but I did let it finish the bbq wings I got from the Indian so that is probably my fault! The lil cat meowed enough as a warning, I just thought it wanted out but was actually a sign of respect as it didn’t want to brick all over my room so either way that’s entirely my fault and have duly cleaned it up without grumbling.

Edit - I don’t know if I made it clear enough, the cat was trying to let me know it needed to go outside but I was told to keep it in the room by the rspca (door is often left open in my household and I can’t control it) so there’s no ill feeling towards the fella, and he or she seems sheepish since despite it being totally chill.

I have a kitten sleeping in my room instead of sleeping outside for the night, before it gets collected by the “authorities” tomorrow. Perhaps you think I should “Zouma” the little thing any which way until the morn’, would that gain your respect?

You didn’t “own” dogs in the past, if you think you did, you clearly have a misunderstanding in how the whole thing works bless your cotton socks :p

Not to stress the point, but since the squitting incident and the following clean up the little cat has been so chill and nothing but respectful, we’ll see what the situation is when I wake up but I take full responsibility for what went on. The meowing / scratching at the door appears to have been just a warning of what was coming as since then it’s been plain sailing, amazing creatures.

I’d post a pic but without uploading it to some flimflam website I don’t know how to do it.

This is exactly how people become cat owners. :D

Unfortunately my place has weekly room checks so I don’t think i’d have got away with it for too long!

The kitten has just been collected, props to the RSPCA - According to the bloke who turned up it was a male just under a year old. He seemed to enjoy his short stay, purring away, woke up with him sleeping on me, quite amazed I hadn’t inadvertently flung the fella off...Will be very easy to get him a proper home so alls well that ends well, however I miss the lil fudger already!
