The Loan System

Oh absolutely. It all helps.

It reminds me of the sponsorship swizzle City pulled though, getting the Shieks brothers company to sponsor them at x10 market rate and circumnavigate FFP.

Cannot believe that was allowed!

Indeed, trouble is that football in todays game is bent and all about money.

If buybacks were eliminated - or treated as being, essentially, loans, and therefore counting to the quota - would there be any remaining loopholes?
Limit the sell on % to 20% otherwise a 80% sell on effectively means you will pay 20m while everyone else will have to pay 100m

As part of the new reforms, Fifa's stakeholders committee — featuring representatives of players, clubs, leagues and national associations — has endorsed a move to limit international loans of players aged 22 and over. Loans will be limited to eight out and eight in per season per club for the 2020/21 campaign, going down to six by the 2022/23 season.

Too little, far too late. Chelski have been stoockpiling players and exploiting the loan system for two decades already. The damage is already done.

That proposal for 8 out and 8 in limit is ONLY for over 22s and only International loans, so could still have another 20 out and in if you include the young domestic loans!

I don't see any reason why a player a club has bought should be loaned out. Loans should only be for players developed at the club. That way you encourage clubs to develop players and have a way for them to gain experience.

If a player isn't ready and there is insufficient room in the squad to carry them until they are, then the club shouldn't buy them. Let young players stay at the club that developed them or go to one who will play them.

Definitely not when they've just been signed. Maybe for players that have been at a club for at least one full season, but with an option to buy. If a player isn't needed, he shouldn't be going out on loan year after year.

Funny how they need six years to come up with and implement regulations for the loan system, while they alter the handball rule every forthnight.
