You've missed one salient point - the tackle was on a Chelsea player. That makes it medal-worthy.

TBF to Barnes he was going for the ball and Matic got their a second before him. The place where the ball was now became where Matic's leg was. Accidental and I think a yellow card for Barnes at most.

Looking at the Barnes incident in real time I didn't think much of it, but after seeing it a couple of times it was pretty bad. Matic deserved his red though which is great news as there's no way itll be over turned.
