The Official 2024/25 Premier League Thread

I saw some posting about this earlier. Apparently it's to do with Trent and VVD and some others want him gone now if he is going to Madrid.

No idea if or how true it is.

VVD was visibly tinkled during the game. Really hope it's true. C**ts. Only problem is the shower behind them are just as bad.

Where's my Nottingham Forest jersey?

I can't see him working out well at Real, but I'm sort of intrigued to watch it all play out
He might work out there because he is a terrific footballer and looks good when they dominate teams. That'd be most weeks at Madrid. He'd cost them in big games though as he has done to Liverpool because he's a dreadful defender.

As much as I dislike Liverpool, the alternative is Arsenal winning the League which I just can't abide. I'll never be going into the office again for a start...
It's some choice isn't it? I'm torn. Is there any way Forest can win it?

I would love Forest to do it. Not least for Nuno who we treated shabbily.

Glad to see that others can view him that way, he is shocking as a FB and yet the pricks on the TV are always raving about him.
I absolutely get that TAA is a poor defender and that is recognized by most pundits. However, surely even the most ardent anti Liverpool poster can see his passing and set pieces delivery is Hoddle-esque. He moves Liverpool very quickly from defence to attack and is a big part of their success.

Your best bet to convince @parklane1 was not to compare him to Hoddle. Put on your crash helmet..

Maybe "he's like a better version of Pedro Porro" would have been better...

I have no problem with his passing at all and as you say its very good however he is in the team as a FB and he really is crap there. Play him in m/f if they have to but there is a lot of overhype about him from the media. imo

He's a strange one because his quality on the ball is outstanding so you'd say he's tailor made for midfield but when he's played there, he's been really poor. Wonder if that's just a case of him needing to adjust or is it a flaw in his game? I recall one of the pundits saying that he looks like he needs the whole game to be in front of him in order to get the best out of the attributes he has.

I do accept that he has strengths to his game for sure, but the hype that surrounds him is totally over the top [ imo]. Like you say he has quality on the ball but the hysteria that follows him is way over the top. Lets put it this way i would be disapointed if he was our player.

Like all positions on the field players need to be aware of all the other players, he doesn't appear to know where his opponents are, at fullback it's usually easy to see as the game is played mostly in front of you, it's much harder to play in midfield as the game goes on around you. His crossing and freekicks are very good but he's poor at getting back when the ball is lost. He's a very good player in a team on top and average when they are not, would probably be very good at Madrid.

Starting to think Forest have better chance to win the league than many think.

Liverpool have been dominant but something isn’t right there and there have been some wobbles. The Anfield bust up us going to test them and if they stumble it opened the door for Forest. That Liverpool have three players whose contracts are expiring does create a tense environment and won’t help their form. Forest are thriving defensively and taking their chances so winning matches in which they weren’t the best team.
