I think he needs a change of club as opposed to a change of manager.
I wouldn't want him permanently but I think whoever picks him up on loan this window will get a motivated player doing all he can to prove Man Utd wrong.

The thing is his form was poor before the change of manager. His form was poor under the manager who backed him game after game. I don't think we are taking about a player being misused, we are just talking about someone who isn't playing well and who hasn't in a long time and even that period where he hit top form is looking like the exception to the norm.
