The we are staying up thread

I’m really fed up to the back teeth of people sneering at stuff like us celebrating today. Are you just supposed to celebrate trophies? The fact the stress on this club has been fudging immense for months and momentum felt like it was immovably against us. You can’t celebrate overcoming that? fudging roosterwombles who don’t understand football. It’s not an achievement for Tottenham but it is a release of months of anxiety.

I see McNulty on BBC is straight in with the boot on us. Every fudging week.
Those who are crying about us celebrating are those who would have been celebrating had we got relegated. So yeah, if we want to celebrate staying up (and we didn't do anything over the top) then we fudging well can....

About 30 mins before kick off yesterday, I was in the toilets at the East Upper waiting for a cubicle. The queue was longer than I'd ever seen it - about 8 or 9 of us which might have been a manifestation of the tension permeating the stadium. Anyway, we're all exchanging that condemned look that made it seem like we're going to the electric chair.

So I get talking to the lad in front of me.

"Can we do it?"

Smiling and looking relaxed, he says "No doubt mate. It's only a question of how many points we are staying up by. I think it'll be 5. We're winning today".

Calmed me right down. That lad is a legend.
Glad it worked for you. At ew100 minutes on the clock my neighbour (seat-wise) said “even we can’t concede two goals in two minutes.’ I was “shut up. We can absolutely do that.” Even with some level of confidence that we would survive, yesterday was beyond the scale in stress levels.
I never want to go through that again.

McNulty is proving himself to be a bigger and bigger idiot as the seasons pass.

BBC report on VAR https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c4g090pjr7ro

Bournemouth, Burnley and Tottenham were the clubs most affected by VAR, each four points worse off as a result of decisions.

Tottenham suffered three result-changing VAR calls against Liverpool, Sunderland and Leeds - without these their end of season would have been far less traumatic.

The alternative table has Spurs finishing in 15th with Forest and Palace just above the drop zone.

Re those who had "best"

After Brentford, Manchester United and Arsenal also gained four points as one of the big winners. (If Arsenal had not got that 4 points, they would have gone into final game level on points, therefore behind City)

At one stage Chelsea were way out in front in pretty much every VAR metric.

Chelsea finished with a net score of +6 decisions, but until the final few weeks of the season they were on +9.

Chelsea received the most VAR interventions in a club's favour, with their 11 two more than Crystal Palace, Fulham and Manchester United.

McNulty would have had a big piece all drafted ready to publish if we'd gone down. With, i'm sure, a crowing tone about a giant's downfall, hubris, unrealistic expectations, toxic culture etc etc. So he couldn't just park all that

A few pieces that are out today smacks of that, wanted so badly to brick on us.

To be fair, someone did comment, outside of Leicester winning the league, this would have been the biggest upset/shock in PL history

I dislike McNulty - I wonder if Spurs did something to him, his family, and ish.. Dude has a huge chip on his shoulder when it comes to Spurs related matters.
