Tottenham Hotspur Stadium wins World Football Summit’s Best Venue Award | Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been named Best Venue by Mondo Stadia for the 2023 World Football Summit (WFS).
The announcement was made ahead of the WFS Europe event, where a gala will be held on Wednesday 20 September in Seville to honour all winners across 11 categories, including Best Executive, Best Branding Initiative and Best Digital Transformation.
This award recognises excellence in stadium and sports venue management, with key evaluation criteria such as fan experience, access and match day operations.
Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur, said: "We are truly honoured to receive this prestigious award, which serves as a testament to our commitment to providing unparalleled fan experiences at our stadium. This recognition motivates us to continue setting the gold standard in stadium management across the global sports industry."
Jan Alessie, Co-founder & Director at World Football Summit, said: "Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a pioneering venue with a diverse range of uses, hosting Premier League football, NFL games, concerts and conferences, among other experiences, setting a ‘best in class’ example in the global sports industry."
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened in April, 2019 – with a capacity of 62,850, it is the largest club football stadium in London.
It’s iconic, single-tier South Stand alone holds 17,500 spectators and is the largest of its kind in the UK, providing a wall of noise that contributes to the stadium’s unique atmosphere.
The stadium is renowned for its multi-use capabilities, with the world’s first dividing, retractable grass surface providing the ability to host a range of major events all year round.
As the home of Tottenham Hotspur, the stadium has established itself as a leading sport, leisure and entertainment destination in London. It became the only venue to host five nights during Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour 2023 – grossing $42.2m, the highest-grossing engagement ever by a woman, a Black artist or any American artist - as well as hosting Red Hot Chili Peppers and Wizkid shows in 2023. The stadium is also included as one of 10 host venues for the UK & Ireland’s joint bid to host UEFA EURO 2028.
Since opening, the stadium has now received 28 industry awards across sectors including architecture, fan experience, accessibility and hospitality.
Not forgetting it's going to be mighty hard for anyone to build a new stadium for at least a decade. (Unless you're heavily doped)People sneer because of the football. But separating that emption, its huge that the clubs looked forward in such a way that means we are future proof in terms of the commercial side. Others can try but unless they build a new stadium to that spec, it will be square pegs and round holes and we have truly stolen a march on others with the multipurpose side.
Means ££££ and ££££ means squad investment.
Everyone should be happy TBH

How'd it go?
Was drinking with an irish guy on friday. He's lived in america for 20 odd years. Mad bills fan. Travels all over to watch them. He was staying in an airbnb. But reckons loads of em were coming over for the game. (From america).
Lots of bills players compacting about the pitch
Strangely no other team has to date as far as I’m aware
Did they lose and are they the “better/bigger” side?
What's the split in the NFL between grass and astro? We have had complaints before regarding the astro turf, but i think its complaints that its astro turf that we use.

I'm assuming it's not the 'type' of astro that we've used as that would have surely been thoroughly researched in the build phase?
I played on a 3g pitch recently with a pair of Puma astroturf footwear, and tbh they probably weren't suitable. The level of grip was excessive. No give/release when twisting and even kicking under and thru the ball was hindered by the almost stickiness.Aaron Rodgers’ recent injury has everyone debating about gras or artificial turf. The players want to play on natural grass because it’s safer, but as of the 2023 season, there are 14 NFL teams out of 32 that do not use real grass.

That’s proper football thoughI played on a 3g pitch recently with a pair of Puma astroturf footwear, and tbh they probably weren't suitable. The level of grip was excessive. No give/release when twisting and even kicking under and thru the ball was hindered by the almost stickiness.
..... better call Klopp. Not aware of their complaints but the Bills have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and would be Super Bowl shoe-ins if not for Kansas City. They lost yesterday 25-20 in a game they should be winning really.
Their complaint should be that they only flew in Thursday, whilst the Jaguars had a full week on them (as they played at Wembley the week before.)
