The new C suite have talked big this week, I’m pretty sure they will be targeting the likes of Wharton and not Hackney mate, but we’ll see I guess. They won’t be able to blame this on Levy if they rooster this window up on top of the Jan one and everything else in the last 10 months (actually they probably will and a few would happily swallow it :tearsofjoy:)

Hardly lots of goals and assists. His best return was 3 seasons ago when Saudi Sportswashing Machine were flying high and he got 11 goals and 10 assists in the league. Since then he has 6 goals 5 assists and 6 goals 2 assists, hardly a world beater. As i say, he is good but i don’t think he is Barcelona level. Barca may not be the team they once were with Messi etc but they still are a top 6 team in world football.

11 goals and 10 assists and being a major part of that success is top level.

He scored 11 goals in the CL this season alone on top of the league campaign where the whole team were crap

I would hazard a guess he has one of the best outputs from LW in Europe
 
Linked today to Antonio Vergara from Napoli. He has had a Ryan Mason style arc to his Napoli career where he went on a lot of loans to Seria B/C and finally broke into the 1st team at 22 this season. Plays primarily as the right Attacking Mid in the Conte system. He is not outright rapid but he’s very quick with the ball at his feet. Lethal left foot.

There is no such thing as a guarantee. And Hackney is far too talented for the Championship, just like Wharton was just like Bowen etc

It's not a certainty we can attract the likes of Wharton in our current plight, and if that's the case then Hackney is absolutely fine....

At another point in time I would be all for it. I wanted Wharton before he went to Palace. I suspect Hackney will replace Wharton or Anderson if they leave this summer and they will triple their money on him.

Just feel in that position we need to sign someone who will come on and immediately be our best player and you can’t say that about someone that’s not played at the top level.

Seems a lot of noise re Vergara, not sure he's the right level though
