Surely you don't think anything other than the fact that De Zerbi has sold him because him and the coaching staff know that he still has a lot of developing to do and he's not going to be able to do that developing in our first team?
The problem with any 'player development ' this coming season is the unfortunate (for them) lack of games.

Tbh RDZ has probably seen very little of Lankshear in the flesh to make a considered call on him. What is more likely, is due to the sheer amount of players we have/had, RDZ only has so much 'player development ' in him. He wants to crack on with the plan and system pronto. (Reflected in the signings).

He looks to be retaining some selection of youngsters...but the ones that have already seen quite a bit of first team action, and probably the ones that technically and mentally he's been impressed with.

When discussing Lankshear’s future, opinions from a RDZ who’s seen him little should not be so influential. Scoulding should have been the main voice alongside those at the club with more knowledge of him.

I think we are in a phase of what RDZ wants he gets. So if he doesn't want Lankshear he goes, and RDZ is happy for the money for the pot.

Of course, the other dynamic is Lankshear has control over his own career as well. RDZ, has nicely, said he's ok if players want to go.

You know what he said previously he would be the perfect 3rd choice and one who IMO with a good coach would develop at pace
The fact we don’t have a first choice and how sold him is scary for me
The fact that people (not you) are validating it by the potential fee is madness
I suspect we sold him because we had an offer and were desperate for sales because no one, so far has brought a senior player who we would sell
That’s a reflection on the senior players for sale and the team selling them imo
I’ve watched him play live 3 times I think and on TV I think around 16/17 games
He literally has everything you would want from a striker imo other than pace. Pace didn’t hurt Kane and the stylistic similarities are there for me as is the career development trajectory and coaching
But what’s done is done
The worry is we still haven’t done the needed front end business but we have time
For what it’s worth I rate tel and think there is a striker there too…. But he will need time and patience
I actually like Richy and Solanke but their fitness issues are more than well known
I don’t think we need a world class striker, we need a side that attacks with purpose (Frank killed that) and with a plan. The chance creation increase alone will have a massive impact I think
Lankshear would do very little developing as a third choice, players that age need to play and play regularly. The player will also know this and want to be somewhere that he has a good chance of starting games.
His game doesn't fit the way that De Zerbi likes to play.
He would be largely anonymous in PL football right now, he has isn't close to having elite movement, touch or awareness.
He has good physicality and is a good finisher. If he works on his movement, touch and awareness he has a chance of making it in the top half of the premier league in a few years time - I'd put his chances of that as 50/50.
If any of Tel, Richarlison or Solanke played championship football they'd all easily get 25 goals plus IMO.

They wouldn’t playing for Oxford

He can’t have seen more than a weeks training
But that’s the call he has made
The issue that seems to be glossed over for the Lankshear debate is we are still left with 2 players who combined struggle to make 38 league games
The next player in line is who now…. Tel???

Solanke and Richarlison will miss 15 games each. He would get his chances.
I don't think he would many chances at all. I think De Zerbi would play Tel there if Solanke and Richarlison were unavailable. Tel is significantly better than Lankshear as well (an certainly a lot better suited to a De Zerbi team). I even think that Scarlett is ahead of Lankshear at the moment as well as being a much better fit for a De Zerbi team.

The fact that De Zerbi has happily sold him surely tells us that he doesn't think he would've played him?

I bet he has seen a lot more than all of us commenting on here? I bet he also has better information than we do from the stats tools and also from the coaches at Spurs. I find it weird that people think De Zerbi would let Spurs sell a player if he thought that player was going to be one he needed to achieve his ambition of winning the league (and we should be clear that this is De Zerbi's ambition).
