And no because we may need him
If a club wants him and there getting him at a discount rate they should pay the rate
We’re not a charity
We might be able to give him away on a free transfer or for a nominal fee (let's say £3 million) and find a club who can just about afford his wages. Doing that now would save us £4.5m to £7.5m when factoring in his £60k a week wages. A far worse deal than we could've done last summer even if we had given him a full pay off.

But like I said above the press talk was he wouldn’t move until he had his passport

That wasn’t the case quoted at the time
The stumbling block at the time was that he wanted a UK passport... odd but well reported
That was the deal he should have took and now he rots here

it’s hardly appetising to him a club saying we want you but actually don’t want to pay you..
The stumbling block was money. He would've been worse off financially leaving, no player ever wants to earn less money.

In this case it’s that I think there is zero chance of him being named in a squad again, Gazza is ahead of him on the MF depth chart, he’s a money sink and all we can do is minimise how much we pour down it.

You may be right, however we are not a charity and i see no reason to be one just because fans think we should start. In hindsight i wonder if they are the same fans who think we should spend more money on transfers every window?

Is there a difference in charity level between giving a player away who has no use or giving a boatload of cash to that player?

He has a contract and deserves every penny, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try and hedge a bad investment.

Well so far the club think they is and in all honesty i would trust there decisions more then fans on a football forum.

It was being reported earlier by France Football that we would pay 70% of his wages in the loan deal to Amiens.
Then it seemed to have died.
In the last half hour Dan Kilpatrick has tweeted that it might still be a possibility.

I think he knew his playing days were over a long time ago. He is in retirement mode already and happy to receive his pension.

In his defence if I were in position I would do exactly the same thing. He will probably never earn as much money as he is earning right now and his contract expires in June 2021. We could have sold him to Celtic cheaply and subsidised his salary but now I guess we will continue paying him until the next window at the very least

i don't disagree with you. its a contract - clear as crystal its well within his rights. And he's behaved himself well, not causing anyone any problems.
