Just to point out (at least from my perspective).
1) I didn't see him saying he got it wrong. What I saw him say is that he got wrong the fact that many of our supporters genuinely did want us to lose/potentially deny the goons rather than beat the champions. He said he thought people were joking!
2) I didn't hear anything inconsistent with what he's said all year.
People were leaping to all sorts of conclusions post-Tuesday, I even saw people saying he shouldn't be telling supporters 'what to think' when he actually said the opposite (as he has done consistently). He simply said he didn't get it and he repeated that. He understands rivalries, I simply think he doesn't think any rivalry should result in wanting your team to essentially throw a match so as rivals suffer great hurt.
Regardless mate, I'm glad everyone at least heard him yesterday
