South Korea avoided embarrassment and got the point they needed against Uzbekistan to qualify for the World Cup. That in turn meant Uzbekistan climbed into the playoff spot, but an injury time equaliser from Syria in Iran put them through instead. There they will either play Saudi Arabia or Australia depending on the result in Saudi Arabia vs Japan.
 
Australia only beat Thailand 2-1 last night which means Japan and Saudi Arabia qualify as of right. Australia had 42 shots at goal or something ridiculous.

So it means Australia play Syria in a two leg qualifier to see who plays against the fourth team from CONCACAF (maybe USA or Honduras).
 
Wow! Looks like Argentina might rooster it up properly and not even qualify! They MUST win next game vs Peru, otherwise it's not in their hands anymore.

Finishing 5 means they will get through due to the unfair play off system.

Oceania should have 1 direct place in the WC.

We are blessed with on-pitch leaders aplenty, by all accounts. A model professional at other times is required for the Captaincy, the oft-mentioned 'Rôle Model'.
 
I reckon England will struggle again. Goalscorers and dribblers but no one capable of creating a thing.
