Sounds like it will be a shoot out between Silva or Iraola should Ange be dismissed. I’d take either of those to be honest and feel pretty positive about the future.
How good do you think the squad is? Like what do you think a new manager could get out of this lot?

I'll be honest I'm not sure on a few:

Johnson - Gets in good positions to score but doesn't ever look like threatening in open play
Bissouma - Looks shot
Son - Regressing (A new strong manager would probably ship him out rather than feel compelled to play him every game (that dynamic hasn't helped us this season).
Bentancur - Unfortunately looks like he's struggling to get back to his best.
Porro - I like him, I'm hoping the recent lapse in form is down to fatigue.
Solanke - Jury is out. I don't see the dynamism of a Delap type.
Romero - Surely going

We've seen a lot of these at their very best and managed 5th.

Are people ready for a project/rebuild?

There's not a club out there that isn't in need of at least a partial rebuild for an area of the team. It's a bit of a throw away phrase, like calling it a transitional season when it was actually just really bad.

I'm not miles away from your assessment of those players btw bar Solanke, I'm just triggered by the arbitrary nature of terms like rebuild/ project.

The Son situation was likely to be sad, left behind whilst Kane goes on to bigger and better things, whilst our captain finds new ways to say "We need to learn from this" after disappointing results. Best to move on and start a new era imo. Same with Yyves and Rodrigo but that's been mightily clear for some time now.

In agreement on most of those. I’d add Maddison into that list. I’d definitely keep big Dom who looks great IMO, notwithstanding recent rustiness.

Yes, we’ll need another 4 / 5 / 6, but we can potentially add Donley, Moore and Vuskovic to pad out the squad / challenge the established players, assuming we don’t make Europe. Then we need 4 of real quality this summer - CB (to replace Romero), 2 x CM (1 x destroyer / reader, 1 x playmaker) and 1 x WF (to challenge Odobert).

Guehi, Cardoso, Wharton and Eze / Semenyo would do nicely!

After that, I think the squad is in really good shape.

I’d take our motley crew over Fulham’s squad built with our rejects though.

A team playing well makes players look better. A team playing badly makes them look worse than they are.

It's a weird one. In isolation, I don't really see much wrong with saying something back to a fan. But you're right that when it happens repeatedly then it's an issue.

I try to avoid playing armchair psychologist but for me it feels like the chip on his shoulder is growing and growing. I think that chip comes from his perspective of being this Aussie challenger taking on the English press and fans who all seem out to get him. In the past, I think the chip has driven him and he's used it to his advantage, to galvanise the club he's in charge of but nothing is improving at Spurs.

It increasingly looks in real danger of spinning out of control and being a really rough end.
I've always said the 3 things that press his buttons are...
1. Questioning his integrity
2. Telling him how to suck eggs
3. Triggering his imposter syndrome

No.2 and no.3 are related

I mean grabbing a game that matters
Or leading in the pitch

If you mean games that lead to trophies or finals, perhaps.

However, the likes of Son etc have often got us wins by themselves through a goal or assist etc.
They have never been this low in the table though and that is on the manger as much as them

Deciders
Sonny did it when he wasn’t a senior player
Now he is …
So many get there and just crumble

Quality around the team counts i suspect.
Imagine if some of those who have crumbled, knew we had someone on the bench just as good who if they fell below a certain standard would easily replace them on the pitch....

Kane never had a threat like that and neither really did Son

Are people ready for a project/rebuild?

GKs -> Vic, Kinsky, Austin with Keeley out on loan -> sorted for the next 5+ years
FB's -> Porro, Spence, Udogie -> add a LB -> sorted for next 5+ years
CB's -> Romero, Danso, Dragusin, VDV, Davies with Phillips and Vuskovich out on loan -> think Vuskovich comes strait into side, perhaps upgrade Dragusin, replace Romero if he goes
CM -> Gray, Bergvall, Sarr, Bentancur, Bissouma, Maddison, Deki -> seems we will renew Bentancur, probably move on Bissouma, new DM incoming? Cardoso?
Wingers -> Wilson, Johnson, Son -> RW needed so you can play Wilson LW and offer competition to Johnson (depends on system next manager will play)
CF -> Solanke, Richi -> I think you move on Richi, you get a replacement CF

There is no project/rebuild here, it's been done
No change required -> Vic, Kinsky, Porro, Spence, Udogie, Romero, VDV, Danso, Gray, Bergvall, Bentancur, Sarr, Deki, Wilson, Solanke. that's 15 players with 10 under 25, 0 over 29.
Youth players that could be used to supplement -> Moore, Vuskovich, Keeley, Donley, Phillips. 5 more
Players that potentially need to review -> Maddison, Son, Johnson, Davies
Players that will highly like to move on -> Timo, Bissouma, Richi
Roles that need to be filled -> LB, DM, RW, CF

So summary
- We have 24 players in squad that we could go into next season with no real concerns
- We have 4 roles to fill, 3-5 players to move on

It's not a big ask, the real issue with the team is one of the incoming 4-5 players needs at least one elite player (it's what the side is really missing) if possible.
