His presence apparently has. I mean genuinely gone into the cracks and looked to weaken it from the inside. Mourinho turned the dressing room on itself/split it...as he does...

For all the damage Jose supposedly did, Kane and Son set a PL partnership record and after he left we still qualified for the CL next time around.

I wouldn't mind a bit of fracture in the dressing room right now if it would improve results, we are seemingly in a circle jerk to irrelevance.

Out of interest, what is that 300 mill Ange got? Not questioning it, genuinely want to see it in a list as I'm sure even I'll be surprised...and just for record, are we counting outgoings against that 300? Does Harry's 100 count? If Mourinho had got 300 minus the sales including Harry, we'd have shat the bed even harder and he'd have blown the club up IMO...

We've actually spent €480m on incoming players since Ange came in but some of that was for deals on transfers like Porro & Kulu (€70m) where payment was delayed

€175m on outgoings over the same time frame.

It's over 400M total, and even over 270M net spend

In, Solanke (65M), VDV (43M), Maddison (40M), Johnson (47M), Dragusin (27M), Gray (40M), Wilson (29M), Kinsky (16M), Bergvall (10M), Vic (18M) are just part of the list.

There are some accounting things as @billyiddo said but Ange has been given more money that any Spurs manager

p.s. (edit), this is why the "back the manager" flimflam and blaming the club needs some hard caveats based on last 3+ years

Strategies which basically aligned to flogging the best they could out of Kane and Son. By that metric (and all others actually) both failed miserably. I still cannot believe the pass Mourinho gets in these parts from some.
You've been one of the first to say that some people's judgement on Postecoglou was clouded by personal feelings (and rightly so, in my opinion). I'd say the same applies to you and Mourinho, wouldn't you agree?

I don't see how maximizing what you have at your disposal can be spun as flogging personally, I call it managing.

You have assets and you set them up to get the best out of them. It's like the inverse to what Ange has done. Playing Son as a back to goal winger who receives the ball to feet.... any Spurs fan could tell you that's not his skill set.

If I can avoid putting words in @thfcsteff's mouth

The squad needed a (the infamous painful) rebuild at end of Poch era, with Jose in particular the idea (seemingly) looked like, can we drag a result out of this core team (Lloris, Toby, Son, Dele, Kane) before that eventual rebuild.

Jose started that rebuild.

He signed quite a few players who went on to become regulars.

Christ .. table since the City 4-0 win, i.e. our last 17 games (even the GD is gone)

Come on mate? what happened last time Saudi Sportswashing Machine brick the bed in the final (last year?), same team, same manager?

It's not x or y, it's about
- Having the right tactics, picking the right players, managing workloads, be prepared, adjusting in game, all of these things
- Liverpool looks like they ran out of gas, Slot uses a relatively small group of players and they went deep in almost everything, what Saudi Sportswashing Machine did well was be prepared to take that moment, if you get a chance, take it.
- Spurs over the recent times has created lost of moments, lots of QF, SF, finals, top 3, we just don't put ourselves in the best position to take advantage, that isn't a player mentality thing (too cheap an excuse)
In those games there wasn’t moments
And the game that had the moments was from a bit part player
We have got close but when we needed a senior player to step up.. like an aguero did for city or even just Isak yesterday they were not there
It’s something we haven’t evens end this season in minor games. I don’t think I’ve seen one player step and own a game
You know their games where you like “wow”
Kane did it in some games where he was exceptional but in reality none that mattered
That city away game was sublime but we ended up with nothing
That’s spurs
Moments at the wrong time

Err, no plan B. And he failed. With the best strike partnership in world football at the time. He. Failed. He officially broke Dele, and treated Rose like a c unt. He 'nearly' won me over partially by getting Ndombele on semi-track, but then he 'Jose'd' gave up and snided the bloke. Honestly, he got away with so much here...

Jose - the 'Special One' - masterminded our exit in the CL last 16 in 2020 to RB Leipzig. The second-leg was a 3-0 away defeat. He did not have Kane or Son available. The reasons behind his sacking are well documented. He blew it up.

He literally whispered in Levy's ear that he could do better with Poch's squad whilst Poch was there that first part of the 2019/20 season!!!!! Liar!

One thing to come from this is that the club have grown somewhat in that regard. No knee-jerking and holding their counsel/actions. I expected panic stations and sudden moves. Instead, they have adhered to their plan. I think in the long run we will be better for it, not the least of which being that whomever we get in during the summer to replace Postecoglu will see that IF there is some mitigation behind a run of poor results, they will not get instantly t-watted out of it. Short-term pain and pressure versus long-term youth development and stabillity with regards to our structure are things I can live with personally.

What were their respective PPG’s in that individual season?

I have absolutely no idea. What I do know is that Pioch's squad needed a rebuild, he deserved the chance IMO, Mourinho said he could do better with that squad, and he did not. Is there context beyond that? Of course! Always! Nothing's black and white! Should Levy have made up with Poch in the first place that summer? Probably not! If he'd have parted ways with Poch that summer, got Mourinho and given him the Ndombele money, moight Mourinho have done better? Quite possibly! Was Mourinho's PPG that specific season better than Poch's? Given you asked the question I suspect you have an answer saying that it was. Wonderful! So pleased! In the end, Mourinho fudged it, fudged us, and left us in a giant lurch with mini-wars around the club. He got his amazon ads in, and we suffered. fudge him!

p.s. ANY insinuations that I am biased against Jose Mourinho, and have thus allowed that bias to affect any rational thought around his time with us, will not be denied and could possibly be welcomed as perverse badges of honour!!!!!!!
